Did anyone feel as if they have electric shocks in different parts? This woke me out of a sleep on Saturday night when my head felt like shocks through it, thoughts, lights flashing and have felt disoriented since. Today was my first day back on rocephin after 1 week off, the shocks are in my hip/back. My doc told me I was herxing from my bloodwork taken on Friday. My liver count was off and by symptoms. I started iv zithro last month 2 x a week, this is the worst I felt like this in a long time. She took me off zithromax in the meantime.

Yes, I get the shocks. Sometimes mine start in the head. I will usually do a little jerk with them, then they are gone. Sometimes I notice an increase in neuropathy in my arms before and after. They were really bad when I first started antibiotics and have decreased since adjusting to the meds and (hopefully)decreasing my bacterial load.

They can be annoying and painful.

I got an awful shock once while doing yoga. I just moved forward and a shock went from my hip to my foot.

It could be caused by a compressed nerve. If it continues, you may want to talk your doctor into some diagnositic tests to see if there is something physical causing the shock that can be addressed. Another option is a medicine for nerve pain, like Neurontin.
