I have 2 out of 4 kids that have flat feet.

The only other person I know (personally)

thats' kids have congenital lyme. Two out

of four of hers also have flat feet. So I

am wondering if anybody else has noticed

this. I think I remember reading about

webbed feet, but not flat. Thanks!

Hi,

I think I have flat feet, not sure about my brother. I have Lyme, but I don't know if it's hereditary. I kind of don't think so, but it's not impossible. My brother never had Lyme. Flat feet though are a genetic thing, don't think it's Lyme related.

You can be born with a genetic trait oor flat feet can be due to being overweight, arthritis or other musculoskeletal disorders.

In the case of a child, the appearance of flat feet is due to the laxity of ligaments that help to create an arch.

All babies are born with flat feet.

I have a very high arch, possibly from pointe shoes. I break the shank (the underside of the shoe) to allow a greater arch. It just feels better that way.

Tow of my 3 kids have flat feet. They also have hypermibility and are very, very flexible, which is in line w/what Kara said. One of them is a dancer and her feet no longer are flat, due to ballet.

These two girls also have webbed toes, the older one more than the younger one. I am interested in any connection to congenital Lyme, since both have been treated for it (one is still sick).

I have seen references to webbed toes in studies on the effects of maternal Lyme, but let me know of any specific materials you have seen on this subject. Thanks!

I don't think Lyme has anything to do with flat feet. I have normal arches and my son has very high arches. We both have Lyme. I wonder if a higher proportion of the population have flat feet or if its just a coincidence?
