Many folks ask about how the Western Blot test works and why they may only have one band showing and have Lyme.

Hopefully this VERY simple explanation will help.

Think of the Lyme spirochetes as being FROGS. That always seems to form a clearer
picture in one's mind. If you have Lyme.. you have frogs floating inside you.

When you check your blood.. you are gonna see evidence.. hopefully.. that they are there. But keep in mind they only test about 2 tablespoons of blood out of your WHOLE body looking for these frogs... so evidence can be missed in such a small sample. I mean frogs DO like to swim around.. but sometimes they rest in other places and hide.

Anyhow.. The bands on a Western Blot test sort of represent different parts of the frog.

Band 1 could be the frogs ear wax. Band 2 could be the frogs tail. Band 3 could be the
frogs liver cells... and so forth.

Each band matches a certain part of the frog.. so if band 39 happens to HOP up on
YOUR test result sheet.. you can look it up and see what part of the frog is indicated by that band.

"OH, look Matilda.. it's the right eye lash!"

If your test results indicate evidence of any band that matches the frog list.. well then..

You've got FROGS!

For anyone to say you don't have frogs in you after seeing the test results.. MAKE them
tell you.... and ask them... WHY then, was evidence of a frog eye lash found in me if I
ain't got no frogs in me.

Make that "normal" doctor you have.... who knows nuttin' about Lyme and tick borne
diseases... explain to you how in the heck you can show evidence of frogs eye lashes
in your body if there are NO frogs.

Now.. if you have frogs eye lashes AND frog toes AND frog teeth evidence.. HOLY
FROGS BATMAN...

You've got LOTS of proof there are FROGS! And sometimes even the duck heads can
figure that one out!

A duck who misses the clinical diagnosis of Lyme and/or argues that you don't have
Lyme.. especially after a LLMD says you do... and the frogs show up on the tests... is just trying to cover his big fat butt if you ask me. It reminds me of the kid standing beside the kitchen table... while milk is dripping on the floor... and an over turned glass is laying there still rolling around slightly... and... when you look over at him with, the "look"... he stands there with the milk jug in his hands saying, "I didn't do it".

Tell those ducks they "best get with the program" or the cowboys will run them out of
town at day break.

Oh.. one more thing.

The frog's part list!

Yes.. some of our least favorite ducks in the country went to a party, oops... I mean
meeting... YEARS ago... to see if they could put together a list of frog parts.

After looking at their list, I think they must have been absent from school the day they taught FROGS! Or maybe they were out in the parking lot smoking dope.. who knows..
anyhow..

The BIGGEST part of the frog.. his belly.. wasn't even included in the list of frog parts! I think too many bottles of wine may have been shared during that weeks meetings (?).. and somehow... the frogs belly was totally missed and not included on the list.

Then.. to make matters worse... some one was sleeping (with who I won't say) when they
got to the itty bitty frog parts that were all over the place.. all over the whole darn place. Yep.. the frog's skin pieces!

And wouldn't ya know.. they missed them too!

But hey.. will they fix the list now that they know better and their mistakes have been
noticed by the whole Lyme world?

No way Jose!

Even though that list is so old it is crumbling around the edges and faded badly.. even while in storage at the, "Most Outdated Things In The World" museum over there in
duckville... they still insist on using that list! My bet is they have been caught with their pants down too many times now.. TOO many.. and now they must act all stupid and
stuff... kinda like the President did under oath when HE was caught with his pants
down... and replied with..

``Define the word FROG.''

Anyhow.. one more thing..

The reason OUR tests from the best lab catch more cases of Lyme is simple. Those
party dudes at the conference missed the frogs belly and other parts too. NOT so bright, I know, I know. But OUR labs not only remembered to include the belly and skin.. they discovered the other species of frogs that exist in the country and included them on the list too!

I do hope the explanation above is able to help you understand the Western Blot tests. If not.. and I have to come back and explain all of this over again ... and in more detail.. I think I'll just croak!

Now move on over Tom Grier.. Tincup is catchin' up!

Yo tutu.. good to see you!

Hope you are doing well! I was thinking about you when I wrote this.

Did you notice the "pants down" remark?

HA!

Guess you can say I've grown accustomed to your bee-hind. OH no... the Lyme, it's the Lyme boss. Help me, help me!

Me tinks we gotta take a break from each other.. ya think?

But I'd miss you too much.. so please..do stay!

Can you do me a favor? Just TRY.. just TRY my dear.. TRY to keep them britches up.

Oh.. and don't be showing Dr. C this explanation! He already KNOWS I'm nuts.. but you being his patient.. you may still have a chance!

Hmmmmmmmmmm.. on second thought..

Never mind. I am SURE he must have figured out you are NUTS too. After all, he is a rather smart fellow.

Yoddle do do, to you Ms. Mountana...

You're right... it does feel more like toads!

But last night.. as a baby frog tried to climb up my pants (shorts) while I was outside being human bait for deer flies I wanted to collect to have tested...

Well, I guess you could say frogs were still in my brain when I wrote this.

And NO smarty pants...

My brain isn't "down there"!

See.. I KNEW what you were thinking!

Ya know.. you.. and tutu.. and me.. are scatted all about the country.. miles from each other. And I sure love you both dearly... but..

Do you think the powers up above planned it that way?
