In the last year I have developed what seems like major twitches in my chest. I'm not entirely sure though if that is what they are.

Seems though in reading others posts, that some of you might have chest or torso twitching too. If that is the case, please let me know. Since I started back on ABX about 6 weeks ago it has been terrible and seems to really flare then.

I notice many of you seem to get the twitching when you lie down, it is the same for me. I am usually fine in the morning, but by late afternoon, my chest gets very tight and sore. Then by the time I go to bed, the twitching starts.

It would really put my mine at ease if I knew that others were experiencing the same thing, cuz it drives me nutty. [dizzy]

Yes, this is a symptom that came on for me last November, about two years into treatment.

On of the state or similar Lyme Disease websites (I can't remember which one), myoclonic jerks - especially in the torso area - was listed as a possible Lyme symptom. It was a relief to see that because it's so frightening, but some medications can also seem to cause or worsen twitching so that could be an issue, too.

I had this symptom for a while. It would only happen as I was falling asleep and only somtimes, not every night.

It has resolved with treatment.

I think we may be talking about something different. I think of a mycolonic jerk as something others would be able to see, more like ticque (sp?) in torettes. What I experience is what seems like a muscle twitch. You know how you can feel the twitch and you might be able to see it cuz you know where it is happening, but it isn't likely that others wouldl be able to see it unless it was somewhere like your eye lid.

I get those myocolonic jerks, every now and then just as I am falling asleep. Feels like I am falling, then I jerk awake. These twitches are different, I am often wide awake but have just lied down in bed and it is as if the muscles start jumping around. Often if it is real bad, yawning will set it off. There will be a couple of thumps and then it stops. May start again in a few minutes later or the next time I yawn. Ocassionally it will wake me if I am already asleep.

Are you all taking enough magnesium? Magnesium deficiency from fighting Lyme can cause the twitching. You can get Rx injections of magnesium, and do them yourself. Here is the best oral form of mag.

I also have the twitches that you describe along with twitches everywhere else on my body. They move around just like the rest of them and are more severe during a flair-up or herx.
