Yippeee! Finally some kind of positive test result from Quest!!!

The PCP just called and of course, he can't make head nor tails out of it! (he had to look up erhlichiosis in a book!)
But on a good note, he is willing to work with the LLMD and treat my dh.

My question . . . can you have erhlichiosis without having lyme?

Just my humble opinion....I would doubt it! If Quest showed positive, he/she must have it really bad.

Good evening Danser,

Congrats on the positive...now you know what you are dealing with, and that makes things a bit easier. It is also nice that your PCP is willing to work with the LLMD!

Is this your husband? (dh)
Have there been any other tests for lyme through one of the more reputable labs?

Just thought I would offer a few links on Ehrlichiosis for you:

My best,
Melanie

"dh" stands for "dear husband"

My husband had blood drawn this past Wednesday to send to Igenex. I'm not sure how long it takes to get the results.

Quest also had run a Western Blot that they said was negative. I called today to find out about getting a copy of the test to see if ANY bands were positive since I don't trust them.

I was so happy to at least have *some* kind of positive for the ehrlichiosis ... and it sure got our PCP's attention.

My husband recently had seen a doctor who put him in 200 mg. of Doxy for 30 days. He felt terrible on day 12-17 . . . dizzy, nauseated, terrible fatigue and pain. Then he went back to his "normal" feeling lousy.

The LLMD took him off the Doxy (partially so he could get a more accurate test) and hubby's been feeling especially fatigued ever since then.

Don't know what it all means. But we're looking forward to getting the Igenex test results back and seeing what the LLMD will recommend.

Thanks for the links and other support.

I'm glad you cleared up that dh thing, Danser!! I thought it meant daughter....but I was confused, since I THOUGHT it was your husband who was ill.

Just popping in to let you know that Igenex results usually take about 3 wks.

Can this stuff lay dormant too? This is one of the things my LLMD tested me for. Babesia and Lyme as well.
