Hi,
Last time I was at the LLMD's office, he suggested I give Juice Plus a try. I did order it and have been taking the supplement.
I was just curious if anyone else has added this to their daily routine. Most importantly, has it been worth it?

Juicing is a very good idea. Anyway to get your nutrition up is a very good thing.
Does it taste good or do you have to acquire a taste for it? Personally, I have never tried it (in case you don't know, I do not have lyme, my sister was infected).
I am absolutely certain that this disease (and most others) deplete vital nutrients essential for health, so keep on drinking that juice!

Juice Plus is a bit of a scam--not that it's not a real product, but you can get the same nutrients in other ways for half the price. My pharmacist prefers the green powders, especially Green Vibrance. I try to drink an Odwalla green juice with chlorella every day, since it serves as both a vitamin source and as breakfast. I also take a perfectly good multivitamin along with flaxseed oil.

One more post then I HAVE to go do some "chores"...a nutritionist at a local store said to get the most nutrients from FRESH fruits and veggies, it is important to make the juice (using your own juicer) and drink it within, I think she said, 2 hours. After that the nutrient levels begin to drop.
Seems to make sense.

Juice Plus was one of the things my LLMD recommended to me at my initial visit.
He said all the nutrients and antioxidants are in the capsules but the sugars are removed. (a big help when you have a yeast problem, which most of us do.)
I was skeptical at first and almost didn't order it but eventually I did. I have to confess, I felt better after taking it for 2 months than I had in years.
Whether this was mostly due to getting the yeast under control (from the probiotics and medications) or the antioxidant boost, I can't say for sure. It was probably a combination of both.
I've always been a big proponent of getting nutrition as naturally as possible and fruit & veggies in capsules really went against my grain! But when you have a yeast problem and you have to try to reduce your sugar intake, most fruits and some veggies are no longer acceptable.
(I don't sell Juice Plus and have nothing to gain by this -- I have to pay through the nose like everyone else!)

I hadn't thought of the sugar factor. Good point.
And I know that I do not get the veggies and fruits that I need a day in me.
Since my juicer froze up many moons ago, this just may be a way to help.
I also had great difficulty having the skill to juice something everyday and could only do it when the body and mind were strong enough.
Although, the cost is taking a big chunk out of my food budget I will give it a try for the next 6 months.
Thanks for the replys.

My brain is not working very well this am. I was setting up my pill box for the week and wondered just how many pills I am to take of the juice plus.
I was taking two of the green and two of the red with breakfast.
Now, I am wondering if I am to take two of the green and red with each meal.

According to the directions, two red (Orchard Blend) in the morning and two green (Garden Blend) in the afternoon or evening. All are taken with meals and 8 oz. of water.

There have been other post about juice plus. My whole family has been on this since Dominic was first dx 2 years ago May.
The kids (ages 3,5,and 8) take the Juice Plus gummies which is just like the pills for us adults the sugar is taken out and all the good stuff left. They actually ask for it if i forget to give it to them.
I don't have time to juice veggies and fruits for 4 of us and get kids to drink it...yeah right. They love the gummies and i can honestly say that since starting the juice plus our dr visits for viruses and any other sickness has decressed big time.
Actually the peditrician says he never sees us unless one of the kids has an accident or for Dominic's lyme blood work/check ups.
They have other products that i have tried and liked but i mostly stick with the gummies. I guess like everything else if it works for you run with it, if not try something else.
