Truth is...very little is absorbed via the GI route. And we don't want to decrease our stomach acids close to mealtime either. We need the acids to break down the food to feed the beneficial bacteria which in turn make many nutrients for us.What is needed IMO is IV doses of Mg to jumpstart the balance, with B vits (lots).
Finding a doctor willing to do this is like trying to find a needle in a haystack.
Bad one is Mg aspartate.
That said...citrates INactivate PFK. This shuts down the glycolysis pathway. Mg citrate is cheap. 1 ml (dropper full) = 52mg.
Mg glycinate seems easiest on the stomach.
Mg malate...Mg and malic acid seem to help if there is an aluminum prob.(malic acid chelates aluminum).
LITTLE, I SAID, LITTLE more often is best. Do NOT take so much you have diarrhea = loss of electrolytes and beneficial bacteria.
Another thing that seems to help is to use the skin route. We DO absorb things thru our skin.
Consider trying an Epsom salt bath. A full bag (4#) with a 1 # box of baking soda too in a tub of warm, not hot water for 25 minutes ONLY!!! Nightime might be best.
CoQ10, if you can afford...contains soybean oil or Rice Bran oil and those contain essential nutrients. This will go right into the cells. Research this and the word "cancer" for dosages and timing issues.
Abx., many of them, further deplete Ca and Mg and vits. Thinking you can restore Mg levels while taking abx. ...think this thru.
Loading doses of probiotics are very, very likely needed. These guys will help you to make many of the B vitamins. Sugar and abx. decrease their numbers. With glycolysis speeded up (sugar, not oxygen for energy - ATP)...hello yeast problems.
Chorella is another excellent supplement.
Digestive enzymes might be needed for awhile. They may be missing.
Gluco Reg by Solar Ray may help if you have blood sugar problems developing. It is chromium and a lot of acids.
Lethecin may help lower cholesterol. It is a fat emulsifer and is in everything (safe), esp. chocolate to keep it smooth.
Selenium seems to help too..stick close to the RDA. Chelates (removes, pronounced key-lates) a lot of bad things.
Bottom line...this is one TOXIC pathogen...it makes the body very acidic.
Anything that makes your system more alkaline (positive charge) is good. Cold is one example and believe it or not...meditation, thinking positively, listening to certain music...laughter.
Ideally, a low glycemic index, alkaline diet will help.
No smoking. Nicotine increases serotonin.
No caffeine. Causes insulin spike...Bb says "yipee".
Of course...daily vits with minerals 2x/day to make sure you cover all bases.
The above is for your consideration after you have done YOUR "homework".
Your health is, and should be, in YOUR HANDS with God's help.
Wishing you a safe journey back to health.
P.S. We have big stores of Calcium (bones) and with Mg low, calcium is going into the cells...triggering "restless legs", muscle twitches, etc. Might not want to supp. this now. Parmesan cheese is off the charts for the amt. of calcium.
