Is there any research that suggests alternate ways of catching lyme other than through a tick bite?
If 50% of people dx with lyme never saw the bug, nor the rash, is it possible there is another way of catching the same germ?
Just a thought.

There have been a number of reports from poland that mosquitoes and flies can also carry the organism. While there are several reports, none that I have seen are conclusive but I still it sounds logical.
In other words, I would not a ths time go to my Dr and say I got it from a fly but On the other hand I would not at all be surprized if it was finally proven.

so then why is "memory of a tick bite " or being from an endemic area considered significant?
To clarify the question:
I know there are other forms of spirochetes-malaria, syphillis(sp?), just the one that we are blaming lyme disease on--is it possible that assumption that we were "bitten when we didn't know about" doesn't need to be?
In other words, I am suggesting that perhaps some of may have been infected in ways other than a tick bite.
BTW, have been reading newbie links SLOWLY. Lots of neuro symptoms here, reading anything longer than this post is really hard. I need Cliff's Notes! (double spaced )

1.You said:but I really didn't need Scripture thrown at me as if to say "READ you idiot!
1.Thats not why I posted that at all when I answer questions I try too put in info not just for you specificly to to the poster ie you I aim it at any new people reading and not posting. No way did I intend that to be taken the way you did.
2.You said:I know there are other forms of spirochetes-malaria, syphillis(sp?),
2.Malaria is not a spirochete.
3. You said:just the one that we are blaming lyme disease on--is it possible that assumption that we were "bitten when we didn't know about" doesn't need to be?
3. Yes. My wife has never been bitten by a tick as far as we know and she has it either I passed it on to her sexually or she picked it up from my fluids of some sort.
Iam sorry you didnt need the scriptures especially the one about people parishing because of lack of knowledge. Sometimes I under symplify things because of contacts I have made here and other places.
ps keep reading the links.
And I hope theres no misunderstandings between us again.
