Hi folks, I have had to be off-line unexpectedly for more than a week. So, I apologize for getting this to to you so late. Forgive me if this is a duplicate/
This is the post from Igenex president, Nick Harris, about our recent letter writing campaign to the NY TImes.
Thanks so much to all of you who wrote. We have become a really awesome community. Ellen
"I want to thank everyone who wrote or faxed to Dan Hurley, the reporter, or the editors of the New York Times on behalf of IGeneX. It is really bigger than IGeneX, because it goes to the heart of our definition of Lyme disease. Your collective voices were heard. The New York Times killed the story. It could not have been done without you. The New York Times is one of the most powerful newspapers in the world, but they listened to you and just maybe they had second thoughts about the story. This is what we, The Lyme Community, have hoped and prayed for, a fair and balanced story about the devastation of Lyme and its chronic nature. We have indicated to Mr. Hurley that we welcome and have hoped for a story `` but one that is fair to all sides. We have urged him to read your letters and talk to some of you so that the real story can be told.
With gratitude and united in our efforts,
Nick S. Harris "
