Help!
Im sure there has been stuff posted on simular

conditions, but my lack of energy cut the search time and i am lost...typing now is difficult.

short of it:
every now and again i get these horrible spasms in my lower asophagas which i was told 1 year ago actually gave me a hiatal hernia.

the pain is beyond bearable... nothing obvious seems to bring it on.
It happened again on wed night after a small

normal meal.(not usually after meal)

This time i decided that i would go(incredible pain)

to valley med. as they treat people w/o ins.(me)

BTW-
my lyme doc says its babesia related and vegas nerve stuff etc.

the e.r. ran tests of which some i found interesting...
My liver was "quote" 3xs normal... whatever that means.
My pulse ranged from 38 to 42, i found this quite odd as i have been in bed for 3 years from lyme and babs.

... but i did used to run a lot, years ago, but so what!

My body temp. was 94.7 and later 95 degrees.

when liver was high they checked by radiologist

through ultrasound, it was so painful just to

touch my liver with that probe, i nearly jumped

from my skin. they wanted to do immediate gallbladder removal as it was

apparently toxic to my liver?!?

I told them i have lyme and am on I.M. shots 5

times week (2grams) and biaxin 1000mg. daily.

they were cool about it all...thank god no "freak

stamp" on my head, but i didnt focus on the lyme.

QUESTIONS...
my lyme doc said stop all rocephin till after gallbladder removal... (which means he thinks it needs to come out too.)

HAS anyone ever had something like this and not removed the gall...

i am not convinced the 2 issues are even related.
(gall stones/pustuals and the esophagas cramping)

I left the er saying i prefered to talk to my doc

b-4 removal.

I would love to hear from you guys, as i believe everyone here has more experience with what i feel, than anyone in the ER!

Since stopping the rocephin, i already cant type, or think as clear, and it sucks!!!
I'm confused and need some clear thinking from
"our" expert panel!!!
ALSO-
lately i have had cold chills in am, hot in afternoon, and night sweats...
and randomly throwing up and nausea.
(could just be herx but solid for about 3 weeks)

AND...when this esoghagas thing flares up, i cannot eat or drink, and 2 months ago couldnt eat for 1 week solid!!!(slow, mild fluids eventually)
but constant spasm inside base esophagas.

ARE these 2 things even related?

p.s. i am sorry for not making sense, i tried to say it as best as i could right now.

I am so sorry to hear of your present troubles. In the past and recent past I have had esophogeal problems and throat spasming problems which I think were related to yeast. I had been having what I call the "strangles" for months, like a fist in my throat. When I went on the Whole Approach diet for yeast these problems went away. I too am on IM and it has caused bad yeast problems for me in the past. Just something to consider.

Hey In-Between, believe it or not this stuff is NORMAL with lyme/babs ! The meds can do a number on the ol'bread basket and gullet as can lyme/babs or bart.

If it's gall bladder, consider the supps "Chinese Gold Coin Grass" or "Curcumin", however, if you have blockage, actual blockage, make sure you talk to your doc before doing these things! OK ?

If the pain is this bad you may need the surgery, but there's tests they can do to determine this. It's okay, not to worry, many, many lymies have had their gall bladders out and they end up fine [except for Tincup [Big Grin] ] so not to worry.

do you still have your gall bladder?... or did you ever have the docs want to yank it out from the complications?

Yes, i know i have yeast issues and i have yet to conquer the battle of perfect eating...meaning gluten free, ect.
fact is, sometimes im so tired i end up NOT eating!

but im afraid to have them take something out if it can possibly get better(even though they say its a goner!)

My l-doc said l- patients often do better w/o the g- bladder but im scared...

So did the ultrasound show stones, or what??

I have had the esophageal spasms. Taking pills seems to trigger it. I also find that if I stay away from very cold drinks, as well as acidic drinks [coffee, cokes, etc] that I don't have any problems with the spasms.

Having a GB and taking Rocephin is usually a big problem. You'll likely lose the GB. You won't miss it much, I don't think. I sure don't miss mine!!

Have you had any success with oral abx?? Did you ask your dr to try you on Actigall along with the Rocephin??

Many LLMD's put their patients on Actigall if they put them on Roc. That's standard for some ddrs.

Hope you get this solved soon. Hate to see you suffer!!! [group hug]

np40-
yes, it's the worst pain ever,

lasts about 6 hours, and up to one week duration at worse... and i Do have a high pain thresh hold (dont we all at this point!!!)

and they want to take it out because its "toxic" to my liver, they say...and blockage too!

i was just hoping for a miracle...
or maybe just another batch of (unknown to me)
meds!

lymetoo-
yes. lots of 'em... big looking as i watched!

when im in the middle of a spasm period, yes it

seems the cold liquid is impossible to drink, but it

doent seem to be any of those things that brings it

on. dont drink cofee, cant afford xtras like

coke, believe it or not, the meds are 1st priority!!!
No- my doc never had me on actigall...

and no luck after years of orals, except biaxin seems to still help.

MY question is... now that there are stones, and the gall is toxic...
is there any going back to good???

or is it coming out, no choice?

...and, as i wait to decide the fate of my

g-bladder... i become more insane, forgetful, and depressed....fast!

it's creepy!

I saved my gall bladder while on Rocephine by doing the clark gall/liver flushes 2x a month, under the supervision of my LLMD.

I also took what NP40 said about the curcumin. But My gall bladder was not in the bad shape that yours is now in. Many stones came out when I did these along with a lot of green sluge.

I think many forget that stones originate in the liver and get hung up in the gall bladder. If you do get your GB removed you might want to think about what you can do to get the liver flowing again to get all that backed up stuff out of there.

I feel so bad for you, I wonder why your doctor didn't have you on actigal? My LLMD prescribed the two hand in hand.. Its fairly cheap.

also if I recall right.Maybe it might help to take it now- not sure?Yours case sounds more serious. If it were me I would let mine go ,just to get out of the pain.

I was on Rocephin and actigal for 11 of my 15 months of IV and at that time never had the Gallbladder problems but have recently had a few things in that area make me a bit concerned.

I have never had it checked really either .When they were looking for kindney stones and kidney problems , and did a kidney Biopsy ..I really should have had them check it out as well,as a possible cause of additional problems /pain I was experiencing at the same time..

I do have Kidney Damage from the long term IV abx.( not sure exactly which one caused it though)

Lymetoo is right there are alot of folks on here that lost the GB while in treatment w/ Rocephin.. hopefully more will chime in.

I hope you get good advice & even better care but it sounds as if its going to need to be taken out.
