Of all the things such a test might be (you mentioned a few..), the adjective that has the best chance of describing such a test accurately is USELESS! (including the !) If you're going to wait that long. you should DEFINITELY start serious antiniotics (twice the ,ah, ..'recommended'.. dose of doxy, at least!)) IMMEDIATELY- the longer you wait, the worse iit is, in a BIG way. DaveS

In the UK, a Western Blot sometimes takes 4 to 6 weeks but that may be due to our ultra slow NHS.

Oh I hear ya, Dave! Dr C and I have already chuckled about the Quest lab result showing I'm free of Lyme and babesia....yeah, right!
I've been treated for the past 5 yrs, so we've got things under control over here.
It's just that while my GP and hospital ducks were looking for the source of my infection [which put me in the hospital for 6 days] they didn't want to leave any stones unturned.
Brucellosis testing would be good. Thanks, krazy and Trout!
