this is a sulfa drug.
at least one, if not most, if not all sulfa drugs are folic acid substitutes, and will go into both the toxoplsmosis 'bugs' in the service of killing them, AND into our cells, and do what temporary damage it can do.

ask doc about building up folic acid levels first, assuming that your low on folic acid.

if you take folic acid in high dose, the medical lit. strongly suggests that one takes B12 with it. this has to do with not developing pernicious anemia.

if low on folic acid, AND you take sulfadiazine, the latter may likely cause temporary, if not permanent damage of some kind to some part of the nervous system.

ask if you should :

1. build up folic acid stores prior to starting the abx regimen, and for how long

2. during the abx regimen.
