The two step method he is speaking of is the ELISA and the Western Blot if I understood correctly.
Sorry, but this is nowhere near being 90% accurate for late stage Lyme.
I actually spoke to a doctor at MDL labs today regarding Lyme testing and he told me something that explains hubby's lack of antibodies on the 2 tests mentioned -- don't totally understand it, but since hubby had 1 positive PCR test he said he wouldn't expect him to have positive antibody tests because of antigen or antibody complexes being formed by the immune system. I think I got that right.
If I understood correctly a person would either show antibodies or would test positive by PCR -- but not both at the same time. And he did reiterate that Lyme is a clinical diagnosis as neither testing method is foolproof.
