Just thought I would post again that you can recover from this disease. I stopped all medications in June of 2003 after having a very interesting year with Lyme Disease and I have not relapsed.
I recently moved to Missouri and was initially very nervous because I live in a wooded area and during June not a day went by that I didn't find several DOZEN ticks on me. I plucked them all off, even had a few that were attached for a brief time, but have had no recurrence of the Lyme. As the summer wore on and I got some of the brush cleared out I saw fewer and fewer ticks, and haven't seen one in over a month. I think I may have just got here at the height of tick season.
