I'm on both Ketek and Mepron. What should I avoid
taking being on these?

I tested positive for Babs and have been on the Mepron for 15 days and haven't seen any change yet, just my walet is lighter from the cost.
$1,010.00 with my ins. discount.

My LLMD says I'll need 3 months worth to be sure it's gone. I'll be in the poor farm by the time I get this crap under controll!

When you are taking Mepron, you should avoid using CoQ10 supplement. It will interfere with the Mepron. You do need to take the Mepron for Babs, some doctors use Ketek with it, Zithromax, I even had it with Sulphur in the past and Larium which they are not using anymore. If the Mepron is too expensive for you, you may want to inquire about using Malarone with other antibiotics. Malarone can be used with Doxycycline. I never used Malarone, but did test positive for Babs in the past, was treated with Mepron and above mentioned and I now longer have Babs symptoms like I did in the past. I am presently on Doxy and Avelox (for Bartonella- gotr re-infected possibly) and my doctor offered Malarone with the combo to see if I get any Babs that may be lingering. Some doctors also add Artemesia (herbal remedy) with the Mepron combo as well and I have heard people see a difference with the Artemesia. Good luck.

By the way, my understanding is Mepron costs about $600 a bottle, not $1100. Sounds like you may want to call your insurance or go to another pharmacy. I have a bottle of Mepron that I stopped using in June. I think I may have 2 bottles and was going to donate them to an Aids group, but if you would like to e-mail me your address, I can send them to you UPS.

Remember to take mepron with food--
it get absorbed over twice as well
when taken with food--
Seams greasey food may be best--
Biaxin needs food also

I have noticed that the bad taste
from the meds is much stronger
when eating the really greasey food-
so the grease is doing something

I am taking Mepron and Biaxin
for 3 weeks and I have gotten
much better so far--

I have not had much herx reaction yet-
Just a few head aches--tired
and tempiture ranges between
101 to 97

I think I have lyme and babs but
my tests came back indertiminate--

I had lyme bullseye 20 years ago
and have been sick ever sence

I have symptoms of both-
and both have gotten better.

The very stiff neck and night
sweats that I have had for
20 years non stop are Much
better-almost gone--

This combo is working well
for me -I feel human again-
alot of the time-

I did notice I made some
really weird mistakes that
I usually dont make--
So it might be a good idea
to pay special attention
when driving car ect.

I have also gained about
12 lbs and I have been
eating less tho-
-Doc said this would happen--

I was taking the Ketek for the Lyme and then was
tested for Babs.

I have been taking the CoQ10, so I'll stop that now.

What foods should I watch out for having both Lyme and Babs

Thanks ImLymed

How about half a slice of bread with peanut butter before Mepron?

Thanks ImLymed

Hi IMLymed. Mepron is very expensive. In case you did not know, the manufacturer GlaxoSmithKline has a patient assistance program. You may be able to get the Mepron at no cost or at a reduced cost. Many drug manufacturers have these programs. It is always worth checking into.

Their website is: http://atdn.org/access/pa/lami.html GlaxoSmithKline Bridges To Access Program:

Good luck!

Here is a link to an in depth explanation of why it is important to avoid taking Co-Q10 while you are taking Mepron.
