Has anyone experienced bad thoracic pain with lymne or any of the co-infections? I've had thoracic pain for 10 years and have had lyme for the same amount of time.
I've tried chiropractic, physical therapy, acupuncuture, pilates and can't seem to get rid of it.
Anyone have any suggestions on this? As we all know lyme affects our week areas and this area has had prior injuries many years ago.
If abx did help, what abx helped and was it due to a co-infection?

I have Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, which can be partly triggered by (SURPRISE!) infections. I have had a lot of thoracic area pain for many years, following an auto accident, which destabilzed a scoliosis.
My osteopath says she sees much more inflammation and pain in people with tick borne infections. I have had a lot of improvement in my pain levels with treatment for the infections, so it seems she is right.
You can have structural problems, but the bugs will run right to them and make things worse.
Antibiotics, osteopathic treatment, low carb diet, pain meds and muscle relaxers, and now treatment for neurotoxins with cholestyramine have all made a difference. My pain is so much improved they are weaning me off the big guns pain meds I have been on. I started to forget to take them!
As far as treating coinfections, I have had a big improvement when I started treating a nasal staph infection with Rifampin and Bactrim DS. These meds also treat Bartonella, which is something I've wondered whether I have. Whichever it is, this plus the cholestyramine has made big changes.

I have had debilitating thoracic problems. I had it under control, and it has come back recently, for a variety of reasons. My LLMD really thinks that the current problems aren't Lyme related, but are from a salmonella induced reactive arthritis.
The way I originally controlled the pain was a combination including:
Flexeril, started at 5mg a night and slowly increased to 30mg a night
Physical Therapy, beginning with hands on myofascial release and deep tissue work, and then stretching and finally strengthening
Maintaining strength and flexibility with yoga
I also think the abx therapy helped to reduce the symptoms. I've been on a variety, I'm not sure which one did the trick.
I stopped the Flexeril, which is a main reason I think the thoracic problems returned. I've also had difficulties controlling the salmonella.

Tickalert, I've been suffering from this pain for quite some time. Does you pain actually seems to affect your breathing? Mine hurts so bad some times I think it is my lungs because it hurts to breathe. I have no wheezing or coughing, plus x rays were negative.
Also, their are time when it hurts and it send s pain thoughtout my entire body including muscles and joints. My guess is that it's neuro?
