I seem to have a cycle of episodes with my lyme. First, my left hand will tingle, then I feel hyper, then I get short of breath, then my heart rate goes up to about 130-150 and I can't sleep through the night(have nightmares, twitching). Then the next day I feel terrible!! I have a headache, get the chills, my skin burns, I have horrible tachycardia and fatigue. It takes about 10 days in bed to get over one of these spells then I am functional again until the next spell. I am in my 5th month of IV therapy and thought I would be over these spells by now. I am so discouraged!! Anyone else have these "spells"?

Have you been tested and treated for babesia? I blame babs for my tachycardia. If 15 mo of Lyme treatment hasn't helped, you need to do a trial run of babs meds such as mepron and zithromax, or clindamycin and quinine.

Babs also causes intense fatigue and chills, for starters.

I'm only in my 5th month of treatment and I have taken 3 bottles of mepron with the zithromax for the babesia, I would hope that would clear up any babesia, don't you think? I also have very low bp and I get a creepy crawly feeling on my arms, legs and scalp. Does that make sense?

Thanks for the replies!!!

Ya never know. Babesia is hard to clear.

How about yeast? Got your diet and probiotics under wraps?

Sounds like babesia to me, but regardless of whether it is lyme or babesia I would be taking very high doses of COQ10 (400 mg or more) if I was having so much tachycardia and fatigue.

One other suggestion would be to make sure you are getting enough magnesium -- the twitching is not usually associated with babs as far as I know.

So sorry you are feeling so bad.

It truly does sound like a co-infection,possibly Babesia, you may need a TTT (Tilt Table test) too. When I got Tachycardia like that it meant Babesia + Lyme and i needed beta blockers plus Mepron + Zithromax to get me bcak to "normal" again. Let me know if i can help :-) [Razz]

check COQ10 and mepron, I think it has a drug interaction- not sure.

I'm taking a beta blocker for my heart as needed. Slows the heart rate down. It's wonderful, it is so less scarey now.

My spells are much milder but my blood pressure is also very low (90/60 - 100/70). A Beta blocker put me in the emergency room, I was dizzier than ever and starting to have trouble with my kids names. My heart was so off beat I was afraid to go to sleep. So be careful with BBs.

My heart palps resolved with lyme treatment. Only occasional now.

Best of luck.
