I had my first injection a week ago monday and it totally wiped me, I was nauseous, weak, fatigued, and all the awful herx symptoms for the next four days, and my *** hurt for a couple days too, though that part wasn't as intolerable.

I hate being nauseous. I have to work this week. I'm having dinner with a friend who I really care about and in the past my illness sort of took over my life and our friendship. I even forgot her birthday and ranted about being sick instead. We've patched it back up and it still seems a little delicate. I miss her and I am afraid that being sick at dinner will bring that up again.

Anyway my boy is here waiting to give me the shot but I'm completely freaked out. Mostly not that it's the first shot he's done. More the next few days will be agonizing and I work full time.
I'm tempted to put it off until friday night after dinner.
But I also feel like I can always come up with good reasons to put it off. And I'm getting sicker again and need to get the bb back under control.

anyone have words of wisdom?
I haven't found anything that makes the nausea better, I've tried all the rx drugs, pot flares my symptoms, and I'm allergic to ginger... It seems like low blood sugar plays some role in how bad it gets but it's hard to predict that.

In terms of the herxing, maybe you need to talk with your doctor about starting with a smaller dose. In my case, I started out at one a week for four doses, then every six days for four doses, etc... until I worked up to three times a week. My experience has been that, in general, the ache afterwards becomes less pronounced over time.
Detox Tea, made by Yogi Tea Company, helps me with some of the herx symptoms, but I don't know about nausea. Its primary ingredient is dandelion root and is available at most natural food stores.

Speaking as a person who hates needles, I can sure understand. But my opinion is that a few days one way or the other is not going to make a world of difference if you have been sick a long time. If something feels like it will push you over the edge of what you can tolerate, don't do it, or postpone it. Not saying to give up on the shots, but don't think any irreparable harm would have been done by waiting until weekend.

Agreed. Sometimes you have to back off the meds a bit and give your body a break. Discuss with your LLMD.

I was supposed to do them 3 times a week but we agreed that was too much for me. So the plan now is to do them once a week instead.
I'm not feeling as bad this morning as I expected, or not yet anyway. Somewhat queasy, I expect the commute to work will intensify that.

thanks!

The herxes do get better so keep that in mind. Bicillin helped me tremendously and it was worth all the pain and anxiety (needles are one of my worst fears!).

I experienced horrendous herxes on bicillin and needed to add meds to help manage these symptoms including debilitating depression. However I'm at a whole new level of wellness today and would do bicillin injections all over again if I needed to.

I did weekly shots until I plateaued, six months total. My greatest improvement was with neurological symptoms.

I know bicillin has helped many folks as well.

I wish you the best.

I am in the same boat. Two shots of 1.2 MU once a week I could tolerate. Once we switched to 1 shot 3x per week, I couldn't handle it.
Discussed it with LLMD and went back to 2 shots, once per week.

Burnbitter one more thing. Drink lots of water and do as much detoxing as possible. It will help with the herxes.

I had all these reactions with the first bicillin shot and then never had them again. I'm on my 5th shot now. Go figure.
