...Has anyone experienced the inability to have a fever? My friend who is awaiting his first appointment with a LLMD never has a temperature above about 97.6 or so, even when he is sick and feels "feverish". Is this something associated with Lyme?

I have heard that most lymies have sub-normal temps. My basal is about 97.2. When I go to the docs for a sinus infection or some other minor thing, they always remark that I don't have a fever.
I would like to go some day when I'm healty and let them see what my "normal" is!

Thanks for your reply! There are times when he takes his temperature because he's convinced he has a fever, and is hoping that just maybe this time, it will register--but it never does.

my daughter's normal temp is around 97. this is very common with people with lyme. 98.6 is a baseline but not everybody fits into that category. you need to try to get this message across to the medical providers. they ought to be able to understand that not everyone is exactly the same.

check for thyroid involvement. Bb affects the thyroid and in turn this affects the body temp.

My llmd has said that upon rising in the morning, a "normal" temp should be anywhere between 97.6 and 98. Later in the day (afternoon), a normal temp should be 98.6.
We're talking "normal."
