Dear Friends,

During this joyous Holiday Season when we have much to be grateful for and are in a charitable frame of mind, please remember the man who has been there to diagnose and treat chronic Lyme and tick-borne diseases for our children, grandchildren, nephews and nieces: Dr Charles Ray Jones. Please also remember the man who has treated many of our children promptly so that today they are not plagued by the burden of a lifelong illness.

On January 26th Dr Jones will begin his hearings with the Connicticut Board of Medicine. Long before that first hearing date takes place, the $25,000 retainer paid to his new attorney, Elliot Pollock, may very likely be already spent.

Dr Charles Ray Jones has been there to help our children seven days a week for many years. He has treated more than 7,000 children with chronic Lyme disease. Now, HE needs OUR help !

This is a man who marched with Martin Luther King. This is a man who puts himself and his career on the line every day for our children.

If you've ever pondered spiritually about what it would take for a person to be a real saint, you need look nowhere else!

This man's integrity and committment to children is far beyond reproach.

Please make a generous contribution ON BEHALF OF OUR CHILDREN by forwarding your checks to Dr Jones' accountant at:

"The Dr Charles Ray Jones Legal Defense Fund"
c/o George Heath, III (CPA)
26 Fairlawn Drive
Wallingford, CT 06492
(203) 782-4343

100% of your donation will go directly to the legal defense of Dr Jones. His case is critical to all children with Lyme and it's outcome will have a tremendous impact on all LLMD's in the future! We lost Dr Petrucha a number of years ago. If we loose Dr Jones, where will our children go for proper diagnoses and treatment of Lyme and other tick-borne diseases?

This is truly a CALL FOR ACTION ! If you should need further information, please call Dr Jones' office at (203) 772-1123.

Thank you sincerely in advance for your help !

Happy Holidays,

John F. Coughlan

Massachusetts Lyme Disease Coalition

Dr Jones in San Francisco 2005Current research indicates that the Lyme disease bacteria, Borrelia burgdorferi, can be transmitted within hours after an infected tick attachment. Failure of parents and teachers to recognize Lyme disease early in its course can result in a child developing a chronic difficult to treat infection in the brain, eyes, joints, heart and elsewhere in the body.

In my experience treating 7,000+ children birth to 18 with Lyme disease, 50% have no tick attachment history, 10% or less have an erythema migrans (bullseye rash) history, but all have a history of living in or having visited a Lyme endemic area and have a decline in the way they play and perform in school.

They are tired, wilt easily, have dark circles under their eyes and are sick. Lyme disease has a profound negative impact on a child's life, cognitive function and ability to perform maximally in school. Severe fatigue unrelieved by rest results in decreased stamina and a decreased ability to ...

I have been sending what I can. I will continue to send what i can until this horrid affair is over with.

Dr. Jones should be supported by all of those he has helped. Unfortunately, THEY are all children who have little voice in this.

PLEASE help!

Folks,
This is really urgent.

Many of the Lyme patients who have been around a while have had time to recognize that we will not find a cure for this illness until we have made great headway with the political battle.

The other side will win the political battle unless we hang together to make sure they cannot take the licenses from our LLMDs.

It's not for nothing that Dr. Jones is the only LLMD to treat kids. It's not for lack of our trying to enlist other pediatricians.

It's because he is the only pediatrician who has had the courage to stick with them and make sure they get the care they need. This has been at risk to his license.

If he is unable to afford the best legal representation possible, he's gonna lose his license.

Our kids will lose their medical care. And the medical care for all of us could be jeopardized.

PLEASE GIVE IMMEDIATELY TO:
"The Dr Charles Ray Jones Legal Defense Fund"
c/o George Heath, III (CPA)
26 Fairlawn Drive
Wallingford, CT 06492
(203) 782-4343

Make checks payable to:
Dr. Jones Legal Defense Fund
And be sure to write "GIFT" in the memo section.

Please contact friends, families and community support gropus to encourage them to contribute.
Thanks,
Ellen

Hi Linda --

It is my understanding there may be a rally if it will help, however the most urgent order of business is that this fund is risen, otherwise the attorney's will not be able to put together the most effective legal case for Doc J before the hearings.

PLEASE, everyone, contribute anything you can asap, and also forward this call to everyone you know.

Even if not stricken by Lyme, many families are now aware and know peoiple who have suffered.

Many will respond if they get word.

Spreading the message is so important.

Does everyone in ***your*** support group know about Dr. Jones and have the address to send a check to help?
