My PCP called me yesterday saying my A1C had gone up to 7.7, and my blood sugars are now considerd "fair" control.

so he prescribed glybericde, not sure of spelling without bottle in front of me, at 3 mg.

will test me again in 3 months to see if A1C is down to 6.5 or under.

This is now my 15 or 16th med; I'm so tired of all these pills.

I went 2 yrs. on diet/excercise losing 20 lbs.

My llmd was concerned I was heading in this direction when first diagnosed. Diabetes runs in my family on both sides and I had terrible hypoglycemia.

With treatment and diet I have gotten much better.
However, I feel I have a certain amount of insulin resistance.

All these meds are driving me crazy too, but it is better than the alternative I feel. At least in my case, the meds, all of them and there are many, make a huge postive difference.

By the way, the diet I follow is mostly meat and non starchy veges, and good fats (olive, flax, avocado). It takes a lot of discipline on my part but it helps tremendously to stabilize my sugars and keep my weight down.

Hang in there. It is very good to vent. Just keep taking care of yourself!
