My son is going for an ultrasound this week because he has an enlarged thyroid gland.

His LLMD says that 30% - 40% of the lyme patients he sees have trouble with their thyroid.

Anyone here experience this?

My thyroid was slightly enlarged and when they did an ultrasound they found several tiny, benign nodules on it.

My LLMD said that he sees a fair amounnt of patients with this kind of thing and that the nodules will probably go away once the lyme and coinfections are treated.

All of my other thyroid tests are completely normal, so I'm not on any thyroid meds either.

Good luck, I hope this helps.

Thanks Mae! Glad to hear your nodules were benign . . . and that no treatment (other than lyme treatment) was necessary.

My son's thyroid is operating normally too. Just enlarged.

I'll let you know how the ultrasound goes.

Rough month. I also have a polyp or something on my cervix that I need to have looked at next week.

Geesh.
