Does anyone get any pain medication for the joints? I feel like my whole body aches. Especially my knee's and back and hips. I am not looking for any type of narcotic pain medication. But, can someone recommend some kind of medication that I can suggest to my doctor for?

What have you tried, anything?

I've gotten some minor help from:

Ultram
Neurontin
Celebrex (stopped Celebrex though)

At first, my doc had me try ...'celebrex'...(had 'free' samples from the producer), which, I think, may have si nce been removed from the market. But it almost killed me- it ate holes in my intestines, which almost led to some super-expensive hospital visits.
So I had qute a quandary over what to do to combat the pain.
At my doc's suggestion, I started a supplement called 'nutri-joint". I also started sam-e, another joint supplement, and yarrow (tea) to combat the GI problems. I also took some "sam-e", but was limited in this, since its expensive approches the same order of magnitude as that of antibiotics.
I still occasionally took some ibuprofen or willow bark (natural aspirin).
This combined approach made the pain manageable- what a relief after such a nightmare!
I can't guarantee it, since everybody's different, but this approch might be worth some experimentatin!

My daughter's doctor added celebrex to her pain management plan just yesterday, so I guess it isn't off the market yet. Thanks for the warning about stomach problems. She also prescribed lidoderm patches to apply to specific areas where pain is worst.
I think we are going to seek homeopathic help for this. We have found them to be far more effective in gut repair; and so far, none of the preseciption meds, including narcotics, seem to offer lasting relief; and they certainly don't offer resolution!

I really like perscription 600 mg ibprophen...I used to take 800 mgs of motrin otc...but doc said body probably only absorbs half that so he RXed Ibprophen and I think it works wonderfully

I have tried the narcotic route...works for some pain i didnt think much of it for joint pain it wears off fast and I cant takeit and work....with this I can ...good luck...Jill
