Hi all,

It's been a while since I have been able to post...too sick.

Started Levaquin and did a search. Most posts were about tendon problems and aches and pains, so I would like to know if anyone has had good results by using it.

Thanks.

Hi tj:

Yes, I was wondering how things were going with you, sorry you had been so sick but it does get better.

I did levaquin for 4 months, along with some other abx, I didn't have any tendon problems at all but herxing was cruel for the first 4 weeks. I got really wired up, could not sleep and had intense leg pain -from the knee down- but it was bone pain, not tendon, I was a runner before Lyme and I really understand tendon problems. This was not.

The good news is that I got really good results on the cognitive area.

Hope this helps,

Yep I had good results as far as herxes and some symptoms dissapearing then had to stop it because of tearing tendons.

was taken off it (yesterday) because the llmd's pa said some of her patients were getting tendonitis.

she told me to call her if i declined without it,
and we would see what to do.

maybe some of the stiffness in the back of my ankle this past month was due to this. don't know.

i had a really good month in terms of lessening the stx. fairly rotten herxes (tolerable).

Thanks, folks. That helps some. I am in my third week. First week terrible with fatigue and fog and headache. Went off it one day due to headache. Back on it two days now and am feeling considerably better.

Levaquin is one of the drugs that has worked the best for me. Good luck!

Currently I am on Factive (gemifloxacin) which is a newer generation in the same class of drugs and weekly Bicillin IM injections.

I never flare on quinolones (this class of drugs), I just get consistently better. Also, I have never had a problem with my tendons on this drug.

My LLMD, who uses this drug quite a bit for bartonella, has seen very few incidents of tendon tearing in his many years of practice.

Now if I would only stay better after stopping the drug...
