Well, Things were going well on ketek for 2 1/2 weeks and I woke up today and the spot about a inch below my sternum and to the right is SORE!
Could this be gallbladder pain?
Could this be caused by the Ketek?
Aaargh. I already know I have a sluggish gallbladder per a HIDA scan that showed decreased emission of bile.
Could the abx aggravate my current condition? Or is it Lyme ketes getting "mad"?
I stopped the abx today until I can talk to my doc. This happened on Biaxin, too. Not sure what to make of it.

I have been pulsing IV rocephine for 5 weeks now. After my 1st week I started to have some of the same and then a lot of heartburn with pain in the gall area. It also started to hurt near my liver. My LLMD had me do a gall/liver purge on the day that I was not doing IVs. 200 stones came out, some pretty big. Then next day oh did this feel so good. Had some heartburn but the next day even felt better. I have done 2 during the off days on IV. Oh it has helped me. But I would not try without supervision.

I have heard of gallbladder flushes and don't know whether they would help me or not. I know I don't have any stones or sludge.
I am wondering if the pain is in my gallbladder or in my colon. After I went potty, the pain subsided quite a bit.
however, it was a pain that felt like a bruise. I actually thought I had bruised myself but realized that wasn't the case.
Strange.

Yes, gall bladder pain is common for people on antibiotics, especially on Rocephin which can build up sludge in the gall bladder.
I ended up having mine removed after several years on antibiotics including Rocephin IV. It took me 18 months to get help because they wouldn't do anything since they couldn't find stones in the gall bladder. I finally convinced the doctors after showing them a journal article on the subject.
I will see if I can find the article and post it here.
Some doctors give patients gall bladder medicine - can't remember the proper name- while they are on Rocephin.

Actigall, generic Ursodiol, is used to protect the gallbladder while on IV Rocephin. I was also told that it has been found to be liver-protective.

Ticked, I actually took Ursodiol for a month in 2004 to see if it helped my gallbladder function. I believe it did. It is bile salts.
That makes sense to take it during IV Rocephin which I heard is tough on gallbladders.
I think that my gallbladder has the Lyme buggers in it which is why they cannot find anything wrong (no stones or sludge), yet it is ejecting only half of the bile of a normal GB.
I know someone with Lyme whose gallbladder was emitting no bile whatsoever, but when the docs took it out, there was nothing wrong with it! Perhaps Lyme had stopped it from functioning?
Does lyme like to hide in organs like gallbladders?

Yes, my llmd told me that lyme hides out in gallbladder. My daughter had gallbladder pain from lyme. Rocephin worsened it and she had it removed. I think it was on the way out anyway.

I had gall bladder attacks and had to have mine removed about 3 years before I was dx wtih Lyme (but six years after the bite and rash).
Once I found out what was wrong with me, I had NO doubt the ketes had destroyed that part of my body.
It was the first time I'd ever been in the hospital...

I get intermitten upper right quad pain too. (URQ)
I had sludge diagnosed (due to IV rocephin in 2001) and disolved by atcigall within 6 months.
But my gallbladder has never been the same since!
I had the HIDA scan and everything---everything shows up normal.
But I still have LOTS of pain up over there--it is NOT connected with eating, can happen before, during after, if I dont eat, do it, what I eat---doesnt MATTER.
It DOES seem to get worse when I am herxing and/or on ABX. I have NOT seen a connection between it and my liver enzymes increasing. I have had high liver enzymes and NO pain. Normal Enzymes and SEVERE pain---????
Lyme does hide in tissues---looks like my LYME likes my gallbladder---DARN IT! Trails

Yes...I think Lyme ketes must have done something to mine. My ejection fraction from the Hida scan was 23% and normal is above 50%.
Like I said, there are no stones or sludge so they keep saying that my digestive system is just "slow" (I have some esophageal dysmotility as well).
That is the best they could come up with. I have a normal gallbladder that doesn't work. Doesn't that seem odd???
I am a medical mystery to the gastro docs! I highly doubt they considered Lyme though.

For 3 years when I was on abx my spleen, liver and gall bladder areas felt like someone had used them as a punching bag. All three screaming at one time and I thought it was because of the ketes.
Almost 3 years later with no abx and only alternative treatments like rife and detox methods I no longer have pain in these areas.
I don't know if those pains are gone because the abx has been detoxed from my organs? Is the ketes load lighter? Are my major organs just happier because I use many detox methods? Or is my body happier because I use a muscle testing doc and my body is healing in the order that it can handle now?
Breaks from abx and detox programs let the toxins clear out and lessen the stress on them.

What is cholescintigraphy?
Cholescintigraphy is a test done by nuclear medicine physicians to diagnose obstruction of the bile ducts (for example, by a gallstone or a tumor), disease of the gallbladder, and bile leaks. It sometimes is referred to as a HIDA scan or a gallbladder scan.
How is cholescintigraphy done?
For cholescintigraphy, a radioactive chemical is injected intravenously into the patient. The test chemical is removed from the blood by the liver and secreted into the bile which is produced by the liver. The test chemical then disperses everywhere that the bile goes-into the bile ducts, the gallbladder, and the intestine. A camera that senses radioactivity (like a Geiger counter) is then placed over the patient's abdomen and a "picture" of the liver, bile ducts, and gallbladder is obtained which corresponds to where the radioactive chemical has traveled within the bile-filled liver, bile ducts, and gallbladder. Cholescintigraphy takes approximately two hours.

It is very common in our society for people to have gall stones. Just because they can't see them on a sonagram does not mean that you don't have them.
A physician of mine believes in cleansing a couple time a year and at the end of that cleanse when your system is really clean and working well and you have had a couple colonics he recommends the gall bladder and liver flush.
Apparently since the 1930s using epsom salts and then olive oil and lemon a few hours later to finish the flush has been known to clean out the gall bladder of stones. Why it is not done more is due to the money gall bladder surgery brings in for the surgeons I was told by this doctor.
I haven't tried the flush yet but plan to in the coming months.
Of course I would make sure you consult with a doctor if you have lyme and if you are on medications.

lymied if the stone is large/very large, the flush in NOT recommended initially; instead the large stone is first shrunken to a "passable" size, then the flush is attempted.
for the regimen on how to shrink a large stone, go to search, and enter either my name, "pq",or, "one large gallstone," and on the relevant thread, you'll find two links on how to avoid that surgeon's, "crayola skin-pencil" lines, and circles drawn on the abdomen.
