Hi-
I hope someone can clarify this for me. I am trying to battle my LTD carrier who has denied by LTD claim stating that I don't have Lyme Disease. One of the issues at-hand is the testing. I scored negative on ELISA but, subsequently, positive IGM, negative IGG on the Western Blot through IGENEX. The IGENEX test says I meet the CDC criteria for a positive lyme test. However, when you go to the CDC website, it says if you score negative on the ELISA that you don't have Lyme. Has anyone successfully debated their long-term disability carrier on this subject? If so, do you have any tips?
Thanks so much for any insight.

Contact IGeneX and see if they can provide any material that may help.

I dont know about private LTD carriers, but as far as the government, Social Security is concerned, disability is not dependent on what your diagnosis is anyway.
Disability is determined by not being able to hold down any type of meaningful employment. Not what you used to do, want to do, or do now. The ability to do any type of job full time or close to full time.
When we get disability while sick with Lyme disease, it is not because we have Lyme disease. It is because the symptoms are so bad they preclude any type of employment.
I have Lyme disease, and I am on Social Security disability.
