I find this strange.

Before the TBDs, I had a perfectly normal temp of 98.6. Then, typically 97.0 in the morning and 97.7 in the afternoon.

Well, I'm treating for Babs now, and I've been sweating something fierce. It's gross, but I hope it's a good sign.

I thought that maybe my temp was going back to normal and that I just hadn't adjusted. (I've heard of this here before.) I checked my temp, and it was 96.4! [Eek!]

This has happened to me before when I seemed to be having strong Herxing. Not profuse sweating, but the other "end" of what feels like a fever: severe chills, etc. Then, it was close to 95! [dizzy]

I don't know when it would be unsafe (hypothermic).

Is this a sign of Herxing: LOW temp? I mean, lower than low?

It's weird. Meanwhile, I am sitting here soaked.

Thanks for any input you can provide.

Steph

Hi Steph,

Low temp and Lyme seem to go hand in hand.

And I've also heard that Babs cause temp instability.

Did you have normal temp while you had Babs and did the low temp not occur until after you started treating Babs?

Sorry I can't help you here. Except to say that I had very low temps too. Often at 95.0.

Though I was never diagnosed with Babs, but only with Lyme, I was treated for Babs.

Btw, there's a lot, A LOT, of info on low temps on this msg board. Do a search for "lyme low temperature".

I'm not an MD. The above is IMO and in my experience as well as from health related books.

I've had symptoms consistent with neurological Lyme disease since 1986. Was diagnosed with Lyme in 2004. Am feeling better now than ever before.

Thanks, Michael.

I never had low temps until I got the infections many moons ago. Since then, I consistently run in the 97 range.

When I Herx and seem to have a fever, I find that it's actually lower! It's very strange. I've run around 95, too.

I know an increase in temp can come with Herxing; I don't know why a drop comes!

Hi Steph,

I just PM'd you, then saw your post.

I run low temps too, even when I feel like I have a fever, and have facial flushing. My temp is all over the place during the day, between 95._ and 98._. I keep meaning to buy a new thermometer in case it is just a case of a bad cheapo one!

Or maybe I really do still have babesia. Ugh. I'll do a search like Michael suggested.

I started Rifampin last week. I was very hot and cold at the same time. My temp was also 96.4. I had to change my clothes 2-3 times a day because of the sweating. It was very weird!

I usually have a lower than normal temp and I'm usually cold.
