I have had the igenex test (the whole panel) and it was negative. Been going downward for a while and I think it might be Babesia holding me back.
I have done 2 months of levaquin (about a year ago) and just finished 4 and a half months of rifampin. I am hoping the bartonella is under control.
I did 6 bottles of mepron about a year and half ago. I was on the regular dosing (1 tsp 2 x a day, with one week a month off)I am not sure this was enough. I took artemisinin also.
I do sometimes have night sweats but that is mostly around my period and since I am mid fortys I think that can be menopause. All so confusing.
What are other distinguishing symptoms of babs? Anything specific?
Any test that is better than the Igenex panel for getting an acurate babs test?
TIA for all help, robi

The best way to detect Babes is using a microscope to look blood smear, this way you will pick up all babes strains or even other parasites.
However, you need a person who is willing to sit for a 3-4 hrs or a day to scan the blood smear, and a microscope of 1000X

The following signs/symptoms may be present in those infected with Babesiosis: Fatigue* Arthralgias* Myalgia* Drenching sweats* Headaches* Emotional lability* Depression* Dark urine* Splenomegaly* Dizziness* Nausea and vomiting* Cough* Dyspnea* Fever* Chills* Hepatosplenomegaly* Jaundice* Malaise* Shortness of breath* Bleeding tendencies, bruising* Thrombocytopenia* Hemoglobinuria* Hyperesthesia* Pulmonary edema* Encephalopathy* Low to normal range leukocyte counts* Possible elevated levels of dehydrogenase, bilirubin, transaminase* Anorexia* Approximately 25%- 66% of Babesia patients are known to be co-infected with Lyme disease. These symptoms may continue for long periods of time, decrease, then return. A low Babesiosis titer (IgG) often indicates a chronic infection. An acute or current infection may show a higher reading on the IgM test initially. There are over 100 species of Babesia in the United States but only ONE or TWO species are currently checked by commercial labs.

I do not think there is a test that will tell you for certain that you don't have Babesia. The protozoa could be hiding in any pocket/compartment anywhere.
Neurotoxin symptoms are neurotoxin symptoms. Whether they are brought on by microbial infections, by mold and fungi or by xenobiotics (man-made), by heavy metals, by chemicals. The all affect the body in a similar way. If your hormonal system is out of sync causing you nightsweats does not mean with certainly that it is Babesia caused. The same goes for any other neurological symptom.
Dr. K. can not distinguish them and never tries to - no matter how often I asked.
Eliminating one microbe or reducing one may bring another one to the forefront that needs to be treated. They tend to take over the other's territory - they are all in survival mode, just as you are.
Neurotoxins are absorbed by nerve endings and travel inside the neuron to the cell body.
A neurotoxin from one source may not have a bad effect on us and we are able to fight that off nicely. But bring on another neurotoxin from another source, put the two together, and the synergistic effect of these two can wipe us out.
There is a synergistic effect between all neurotoxins.
We have to change your own eco-system, so that none of them have a chance to take you over. Clean up the body. That's really all I did.
The only testing method that I know that keeps track of what is most urgent to treat is ART. For instance, Babesia may show strongly at one time - that's when it is time to treat it. It then may fade away and all of a sudden mercury toxicity may show strongly at your next ART testing. That takes only a minute or two. That's the treatment approach then. Most of the problem-makers can be treated alongside each other, with the respective meds, but the meds also have to be tested together to make sure that the synergistic effect is positive; that one med does not reduce the effect of the other or negate them all together. That is how you slowly and surely work the system to bring it back into balance. Just as in nature - so in the human body.
There may be other energetic testing methods accomplishing the same thing. ART is the only one that I know and it works for many.
If I had waited for this or that lab test, I would probably have ended up with nothing but negative tests and still be bothered by some symptoms. In a way, these tests are rather meaningless if the bugs creating them are no longer showing, in effect are dead, but we are still stuck with the neurotoxins they produced years ago. Read my post of the other day "Dr. K. Thoughts and Strategies" - not sure of the exact title.
Take care.

For me I think Babs effected me most--
A perty sure sign of Babs is Drenching night sweats- that happen at the same time each night-
Mine started at 2am like clock work- and would stop at 7 am--
Babs also caused Extreme joint cracking and poping- Very painful
Bad Headache -- Crazy heart beat- mostly at night--
Low tempature--
Also causes a skin rash that looks like Prickly Heat except the bumps are widely spaced --some hurt when scratched some dont--
From my experance both lyme and babs have to be treated at the same time-- --Jay--
