I have been diagnosed with white and black yeast in the blood.
Can anyone give me information about these two conditions? Apparently the black yeast is very difficult to kill. I start 4 weekly IV's 5/10/06.

For yeast or for Lyme??
Do these yeasts have a name? I couldn't find anything on black yeast except in skin conditions.

The IVs are to kill the yeast. Per doctor, black yeast is so hard to kill, orals will not be able to do it.
I definitely do not have a skin condition. I found that research too saying it comes from Puerto Rico. I was in PR several years back.
I found other research stating black yeast is very rare in people and can go to the brain and cause instant death. Yikes! Seems in Europe they are trying very hard to find a way to kill black yeast once you have it. The little I could find made it sound as if presently you can't kill black yeast.
I'm hoping someone here on Lymenet will know more.

I believe the bloodtest is called "High Resolution Morphology". I don't know what med he is using.
I sure hope it works.

No one else knows anything about it?
I read that Black Yeast is extremely rare in humans. 1/2 of 1% of the entire world population is estimated to have black yeast.
It grows in the rain forest.
I have been to the rain forest in Puerto Rico. I was there about 5 yrs ago.
Additionally, while in Hawaii, we were riding horses and the guide had us pick and eat fresh guava. It was delicious. Maybe I became infected then.

Give a product called Kolorex a try. I found it was the most help anti-fungal even more powerful than prescribed meds. You can find it at some Health food stores or on-line. Good Luck.
