Should I have the MRI done, or just go ahead and make the appt. with LLMD Dr. J? I know what's going to happen, I'm going to get the results from the MRI, Going to have lesions, and then be nothing but a basket case til I can get an appt with LLMD, which is 8 weeks, I already called and discussed this with the secretary. I am so afraid, MS or Lyme? My grandmother was diagnosed with MS when she was 60, sometimes I wonder if she didn't have Lyme also, found a journal after she died, It said that doctors don't call her condition MS in people her age, they call it "diseaseof demyelination". Am I ever going to feel better? I am not sick, or fatiqued, just have these crazy senstions going on in my body, is everyone sick, sick at this stage?

Can these symptoms just come and go, some only lasting minutes, to hours, to days?

My husband thinks I'm crazy, he told me I'm going to get the MRI Wed, or he's divorcing me.

I know what it's going to be as mentioned earlier.

Any thoughts? Does anyone know how many people are infected that live in PA?

I don't remember a rash, but did get bit by something on my arm and butt prior to all this.

My husband who is a hunter has had two ticks on him, that we know of. Thanks guys!

Hi there

Okay first of all, try not to worry...I have been in exactly the same position and worrying simply helps the Lyme run riot. Yes it is normal to have all these crazy sensations that change every hour/minute and the stress makes them worse...Lyme feeds on it.

I was like you, too anxious/ill to get the neurological tests done at a hospital knowing they would be ignorant of Lyme so I just went straight to a LLMD.

I am pretty sure you have Lyme. Your symptoms are very familiar here, so you can get help for this and will not deteriorate further...get to a LLMD asap.

I was nearly diagnosed with Ms too...I lost the sight in my left eye, could barely walk, had the tingling sensations all over especially my face, nausea/anorexia, electric shock sensations etc. etc.I had everything you describe and plenty more! You may not be demylineating, I wasn't. A spinal tap showed chronic meningitis which as far as I know has gone away with treatment.

I should add that although I am still symptomatic I can work work part time and my eyesight returned full, tingling mostly stopped etc.

A LLMD may want to do their own tests, so just get an appointment as soon as you can. An MRI is helpful to show them but you need advice from a Lyme expert for diagnosis.

P.S. It is possible for men to pass Lyme infection to their partners sexually so you need to use protection.

Emma

"Can these symptoms just come and go, some only lasting minutes, to hours, to days?"
Absoulutely! That is a hallmark of Lyme disease.

"My husband thinks I'm crazy, he told me I'm going to get the MRI Wed, or he's divorcing me."
Well, then I guess you'd better do it! [unless maybe you need a divorce!] If you don't do it, you'll always wonder.
"I know what it's going to be as mentioned earlier."
Yes, it could very well show lesions.

"Any thoughts? Does anyone know how many people are infected that live in PA?"
Thousands. Just read the board here and you'll see tons of people from PA. I believe it's ranked second in the number of Lyme cases. {NY is first}
"I don't remember a rash, but did get bit by something on my arm and butt prior to all this."
MANY of us never had a rash. I didn't.
