Hi,

I have been in treatment 3 and a half years.

Made some progress, but my LLMD is now starting

to treat the co-infections, he thinks may be why

I have still not fully reoovered.... I

understand the whole co- infection thing and I

know they have to be treated.......but I am

herxing so badly, sweats, intense burning pain

and can

hardly walk on my feet. I honestly think this is

worse that when I first began treatment. I

currently am on Biaxin,1000 mg per day, and have

just added Omnicef, 600 mg per day.(Also on a

bunch of other meds, not ABX, can't think of

them all right now) I am only

taking 300mg right now. I called my LLMD and he

said to cut back to one Omnicef every other day.

I guess I am just wondering if anyone else had

had so much trouble treating so-infections? Is

it going to be as long of a road that the Lyme

treatment was? Just wondering how much more I

can take. Any help or ideas would be much

appreciated.

Sounds like you might have bartonella and babesia. Bart is pretty hard to get rid of, but in my opinion, babesia is not so hard to beat.

You have to find the right combo of drugs in each case. Some drs are better than others at finding those combinations.

Hang in there, you are on the road to success!

It's a shame you weren't treated for the co's earlier. You might have gotten well a bit sooner.

Treating coinfections is just like treating lyme. You feel worse before you feel better.

But, I would hope that you could get rid of babesiosis and bartonella both in 1 year.

How is cutting back on your medication going to treat your infections properly? It will make them harder to treat if you do not use adequate doses.
