For the past few weeks I have noticed a subtle "clenching" in my muscles. Mostly my biceps and calfs, but other areas too sometimes.
It's kind of like a mild charley horse, yet more subtle and less painful. I can feel the muscles just slowly clenching and releasing, then doing it again.
It does hurt, but not in an "OWWW!" sort of way.
Does anyone know what is going on? It's kind of frightening. At first I thought it would just go away but it just isn't.
I already have body wide muscle twitches...which right now are pretty minimal but still a daily occurance. This does not feel like twitching. It feels like someone's hands wrapped around my muscle and slowly squeezing and releasing.
Does anyone else get this?

I get this too. I was always worried it would develop into full fledged muscle cramps like some people here have, but so far it hasn't.
It feels exactly like a muscle cramp- but without the "oww" pain- just as you said.
I just assumed it was caused by lyme. Have you asked your LLMD?

What just guessing are you on a quinalone like levaquin? If you are call your LLMD and tell him about the pain and deep clenching this drug can cause tendon and cartilage damage. Also get B12 shot or start taking large doses of sublingual b12 & also take Magnesium, and Potasium be careful with that one though it can accumulate. Dont take any probiotics/vitamins within 2 hours of any abx's.

Alli- I have magnesium and I eat banannas for potassium. The Mag has never seemed to help me with anything... it doesn't lessen my muscle twitches at all.
Canbrave- I've had spasticity before but it was different than this. Maybe there are different ways of it manifesting itself. That was back when my neuro thought I had MS.
With the spasticity I had, it felt like the OUTSIDE of my muscles were contracting in waves. This feels like the inside of my muscles..I think.
Treepatrol- No, right now I am only on Zith and Nystatin. I've been on Zith before.. several months ago.
I take B12 every day but only 500 mcg a day.. because there are 5 of us in my house with this disease and we all take it..and it's expensive to treat 5 people.
I always take my probiotics before bed.. at least 2 hours after my last abx dose. And I try to take it on an empty stomach.
