Definitely call IGeneX first and ask them specifically what condition the specimen has to be in - what preservatives to avoid, etc.
When I had my liver biopsy due to Ketek damage, my LLMD decided after the fact that it might be interesting to send it to IGeneX, too. But the pathology lab where I had the biopsy done had already used some kind of chemicals and had processed it in such a way that neither IGenex nor MDL could work with it.
