Whenever I do research on this plant I always find something to read about its anti-oxidant properties.

Heres something i found from the website
http://www.vrp.com/art/621.asp?c=1146859038953&k=/det/2186.asp&m=/includes/&p=no&s=0

"Antioxidant Value
No review of turmeric would be complete without making specific reference to its most significant benefit, that of an antioxidant. While you may be aware that numerous studies
have confirmed turmerics ability to quench both superoxide and peroxyl radicals, what you may not know is that turmeric was found to be over 5 times more potent than alpha
tocopherol (vitamin E) at quenching a wide range of free radicals. Since many researchers attribute much of the aging process to the incessant damage caused by free radicals and the subsequent decline in the bodys ability to effectively regenerate damaged cells, turmeric certainly bears at least thorough consideration for inclusion into your daily supplement routine."

This site also says that TUrmeric EXTRACT is a very powerful anti-oxidant. (I have never heard of turmeric extract)

I have been mixing a powdered form of Turmeric in water and drinking it everyday now for the last few weeks. I consume around one tsp a day of turmeric. It tastes like dirt, but I have a feeling I'm helping out my liver bigtime. [lol]

DOes anyone have any more knowledge of this herb, or know of more effective ways of consuming it?

Jon, I have 6 antioxidant files, want them via a PM?

None specifically on turmeric.

You are headed in the right direction...way too many damaging free radicals.

We know for SURE vitamin E and A drop. Vitamin E causes hydrogen RELEASE.

We know for SURE...Bb is using our antioxidant enzymes (2 of the 3) to resist being destroyed by H2O2.

Let me know if you want to explore the antioxidants further.

I eat at least 1 tsp of organic turmeric powder each day. I put it in food and love it.

You can add it to salad dressing too. I make mine with olive oil, Braggs vinegar & some raw organic garlic if I remember.

I have added it to almost everything and even in large doses it never overwhelms the taste but does turn everything orange so be careful.

I bought some fresh organic turmeric, once, and had orange fingers for days and an orange formica counter top that eventually faded away to its natural color.

I have been eating it for at least a year but cant say Ive noticed any help from it.

It just a food so I feel comfortable continuing eating it daily along with my raw garlic and ginger

My mom takes turmeric force by "new chapter".

She swears it helps her back pain.

I make my own mix of turmeric, organic garlic powder, ginger, cayenne and cinnamon. Put it in capsules and take them all day long for inflammation.

Inflammation is something I struggle with on many different levels. These have been very beneficial for me.
