Hey all.....My Igg came back positive for Bart after 2 years of treatment for lyme and such and it was after almost 3 months of rifampin that it came back positive. Just wandering what this means does it mean i am still dealing with it or it is in the past (IGG)? My doc who i feel doesn't know everything is all we have down here in texas i currently had just switched to Ketek and Flagyl....Will Ketek get Bart? Also, will Ketek and Flagyl get Babs i feel as if i am still dealing with these two monsters....Thanks, Robin in Houston

I do not have a great answer but sure someone will come along..My daughter was treated for lyme and bart for a long time and then her llmd suspected babs..
She has not have flagyl but so many others..I think she took Mepron for the Babs..
And she is still positive for bart..It is a biddy..Good luck. lymemomtooo

Ketek by itself will not kill bart. You can try combining it with rifampin, or you can take levaquin and doxy. Both combinations have side effects, and are very hard on the liver. Do not take ketek and levaquin at the same time.
Neither ketek or flagyl kills babesia.

IgG indicated prior exposure, however if the levels are high enough I believe it can indicate active infection. IgM indicates active infection, again, if the levels are high enough. Each test if different.
