Go to that link and using your toolbar...edit, find the word "sodium".
It has been known for a LONG time that Na and Mg can knock off pathogens. (So does CO2.)
Okay...looky here:
J S Afr Vet Assoc. 1976 Mar: 47 (1): 29-33 The diagnosis and treatment of acid-base deranged dogs infected with Babesia canis.
Malherbe WD, Immelman A, Haupt WH, Walzl HJ.
A study was made of the acid-base status of Babesia canis infected dogs judged unlikely to recover after specific babesicidal drug therapy despite the use of blood transfusion and other conventional supportive measures.
Such cases were invariabley acidotic and responded well and often dramatically to supportive intravenous sodium bicarbonate administration.
Elevated blood urea nitrogen, also responded gratifyingly to this procedure. The rationale is discussed in some detail.
P.S. We are not supposed to be figuring this out...that nutrients (Na, Mg) can cure infections.

Marnie, not sure what you are saying. Are you suggesting that the sodium may have been the reason for growth inhibition? Otherwise, you lost me.
I agree with what you said,

I think I believe that if we can get our immune system balanced and in good shape, it may bring the infection under control.
Sure the little buggers may keep mutating, but our immune sytem should find that not to be a huge problem. When working at an optimal pace it should be able to come up with antibodies to anything I would think. We also need to figure out how to draw it out into the open where our immune system can get at it.
I swear when I get enough magnesium to stick I herx quite significantly. There is no doubt that this stuff is really a challenge for our immune system, but if we get our immune system the elements that it needs to work and possiby a few ABX to gain some control we just might be able to lick this stuff without destroying ourselves in the process.

Problem...
"Hypoglycemia is common in malaria, as malaria parasitized red blood cells utilize glucose 75 times faster than uninfected cells. Treatment with quinine also lowers blood glucose by stimulating insulin secretion."
There is a glucose-Na-K connection...has to do with osmotic pressure on the cells' walls. Too complicated for me to try to figure out right now though.
Insulin triggers cholesterol and ACTIVATES PFK...which Bb is dependent on. Bb's a "happy camper". Best buddies.
Salt works by raising the pH...Go to the following website and once there, use your toolbar to edit, find the word "salt" and how it is acting on the malaria protozoan.
Also...in a way, this is how our water softeners work...by removing various "undesirable" minerals...esp. calcium which = "hard water".
Tricky to keep all the minerals in their right balance while destroying the pathogens. So much else comes into play.
Mg AND Na are very good at getting rid of many infectious organisms. Mg especially. Dr. Pierre Delbet figured that out many years ago (prior to vaccines).
Keep in mind...we have used salts for YEARS to "preserve" our foods (like meat) from becoming rancid from pathogens.
CO2 destroys pathogens too.
Shoot...as I was researching, I skimmed a point I should have dropped into a file...something about babesia also being in endothelial cells. It caught my attention since this is Bb's hideout place too.
