I am at the end of my 1st week of bicillin. Today my legs are terribly weak with lots of tingling & stinging.

I don't see nerve pain or muscle weakness listed as a side effect of bicillin. Has anyone else had this?

Thank you.

Hi there!

I'm not on bicillin LA right now, but I was on it before and I DO REMEMBER THAT CREEPY FEELING.

It was usually right after the shot and it lasted for 2-3 hours. Don't know what it is.

Up for answers.

Take care,
Lymster in WA

I don't think this is a side effect of Bicillin LA. I think it may be a herx, jmo. I've been on Bicillin since Oct. 05, and my leg problems have slowly gotten better and are much better now than before, but still not perfect.

I don't remember it being listed as a side effect either.

But this is what happened to me, and it might have been a total coincidence. But, I got weak and wobbly feeling legs which was then followed by a bad case of sciatica down BOTH legs that lasted for months. In fact, I still have numbness going down one side of my leg through my foot from that time.

So, what I'm saying is that either there is no connection and you just happened to get weak legs while on Bicillin OR maybe there is a possibility it can irritate the nerves in the buttock/legs causing you to feel weak.

sorry don't know the true answer, but just thought I'd let you know I had similar.

I am the queen of herxing and since my herxs are of neurological or/and arthritic symptoms: Bicillin gave me a lot of knee pain. I would assume since I had knee repairs in my lifetime prior to lyme diagnosis that that is where the herxs amongst many areas hit me. I was able to combat it with pain medications and warm compresses. Sorry that I can't give you a definitive answer but hope this adds some insight. Stay strong and God Bless!

I'm on Bicillin, too. Are you sure you're not irritating a nerve or something during the injection? As I develop more and more scar tissue and it's harder to inject, I do get temporary pain in my hip and part of my leg.

I've had so many Lyme nerve issues since day one before treatment that I can't comment on tingling because it's a whole different issue for me - not just Bicillin. But I have gotten some electrical shocks in my legs since Bicillin so maybe it's a herx.

My impression during bicillin was when my leg was extremely weak and wanted to fall off was that it is part of the lyme disease, so like the symptom and the herx.

As well, however, I do think that the bicillin itself added to my nerve problems.

Hard to tell for absolute certain, but that is what I think.

Of course since my leg still feels that same way and I am on to a different combo, I can say it is not hte bicillin causing it. But I can think that the leftover additional things were caused by the bicillin.

That doesnt happen to me on bicillin but it did when I was on tetracycline.

My legs were so weak I was thinking about a walker. Stopped the tetra and legs are much better

As someone else said it could be a herx whick could happen from anything.

We all react differently to different drugs and herbals
