I love carrots and eat at least three of them per day. Is this too many? Will I overdose on Vitamin A? I love my carrots, so I sure hope they are okay to eat!

Don't worry about overdosing on carrots unless your skin turns orange-and I am not joking about this.

We have three species of critters that eat a lot of carrots in this house-kids,guinea pigs and dogs-the dogs love them the most- more than Milkbones.

watch carrots they are high in sugar....especially if they are cooked.

Carol, I used to have a dog that loved carrots....as soon as he heard the crisper door open, he was there.

Now my parents have a dog that as soon as you drop something on the floor he runs for it....loves bread too.

it's not the vit A you need to worry about w/ carrots. carrots are often planted on toxic barren fields to absorb poisons and prepare the fields for planting. the poison saturated carrots are discarded. the high propinquity for absorbing poisons is reason enough to minimize carrot intake.

This post is funny to me because I have been totally craving carrots and spinach.

I haven't turned orange yet and I been eating the 5 lb bags of Newman's Own (Organic) $4.99.

Mmmmm. Must be the yeast calling. I have to steam them so they are soft. Or my TMJ gets totally out of control. Glad I started back on Diflucan today. [Wink]

Yes, I think your skin would turn yellowish first if you were getting too many carrots.

By the way, does anyone find it interesting that Carol B refers to her kids as a "species/critter"?

Thanks for all the help everyone!

The saying, "Everything in moderation" always seems to hold true. I'm glad to know, however, that "moderate" in some foods means more than "moderate" in others.
