To all, I apologize for my misreading Kay's post to read Dr. J's funds were gone as of May hearing, and that Dr. J did not want you to come but send the money you'd spend on everything to his defense fund. I've copied/pasted the emails in question leading me to this conclusion. I'm sorry everyone for the additional confusion I caused to those going! [group hug] [kiss]

6-13-06, 9:41 Kay Moss quotation:
Hello everyone,

I just spoke with Dr. Jones and there is just about enough money in his fund to pay for his defense through the next hearing on May 22nd, but then the funds will be depleted.

Dr. Jones requests that anyone planning to spend money on travel and hotels to attend his hearing, instead, donate the expenses to his defense fund.

The hearing will DEFINITELY be at the Legislative Building where the last hearing was. Dr. Jones feels it would be helpful to get an idea of the numbers planning to attend the hearing by next Monday, the 19th. This would be helpful in deciding what size room will be needed. I don't need names, just approximate numbers. Please send me an email with an estimated number attending. [email protected]

Please know, it does mean a lot to Dr. Jones to see that people support him in his calling, to help kids with Lyme. Come to the hearings.

Dr. Jones also requests that kids attending be limited to 10 years or older. Parental judgment should be used. For example, some 14 year olds may have trouble sitting still for a 1/2 hour while a few 8 year olds might be able to make it all the way through the hearing.

Thank you for your continued support,

Betty,

Please, Dr. Jones did NOT say "don't come"

Also, no where in my post does it say >>>they ran out [of money] after the last hearing<<<

Dr. Jones DOES want people to attend. However, if people are spending money on hotel rooms, etc. those monies would be gratefully accepted as a donation to the defense fund.

We need to start fundraising events for Dr. Jones, bake sales, car washes, yard sales, potlucks...etc. We NEED to hold EVENTS to raise funding.

Please, please let's show up for this dedicated man AND support him financially. If you must choose between the two, than the money is desperately needed, but don't think physically showing up is not important to him, it most definitely is.

>>>Dr. J has stated; needs funding. Don't come; send the money you'd spend on lodging, food, gas, transportation for his legal expenses. They ran out after last hearing. Read Kay's complete note there!<<<

Kay, to clarify, May 22 is over ....were you meaning JUNE 22? That's why when I read May 22, funds were depleted!?
Kay, your 2nd paragraph says that to me ...don't come, send the money you would have spent to my defense fund.

Also, since I read late at night/early am hours isn't always the greatest, so I apologize for MISREADING what you wrote .
Thanks for clarifying things!

The one thing I noticed early this morning. Your note of NEW info was only on this post when there were at least 10-12 others about June 22 hearing in medical/general.

So I'd like to suggest if you have NEW/CRITICAL info to start a NEW THREAD in MEDICAL & GENERAL.

They get so long, important info gets lost... in my humble opinion. Bettyg
