By the way... have I mentioned the children?
At the rally I actually had to walk away after a few of them spoke. If I hadn't, I would have surely drown in a flood of tears! They ARE all our little darlings... bless their hearts.
It was so POWERFUL to have them there.
If they can come to the hearing .. I KNOW Dr. Jones would be lifted up in spirit to see them. As would the others attending and making that long trip.
And it would be.. in MY opinion.. realy hard for the IDIOTS to have to look into the eyes of the children and tell them they were shutting down their doctor.
And I know one thing.. for sure. A big hug from the kids would make MY day.

If the train doesn't work for you, consider jumping into your car, hopping onto the interstate and heading to Hartford. You could car-camp if you can't arrange anything else. Just make sure you choose a safe and legal spot.

Please go to Ellen Lube's post on Dr. J at the top of medical ... 6-12 updated.
Look for post by Kay Moss ... Dr. J has a NEW suggestion of not coming but donating the money you would spend on transportation, lodging, food, gas, etc. for his defense fund since it ran out at the last hearng! Read the details there ok!

Those that can, do some of both..Those that can't, do what you can ..Everything will help..
But since I did not hear this new appeal, I do know he was disappointed with the attendance at the last hearing. So whatever you can do , just do something..

I'll be out of town and won't be able to go to this hearing. I'll write another check though. Business picked up this week so I'll send the extra to Dr.J. Is there another hearing scheduled or is this the last one. hats

posted 14-06-2006 09:41 PM by ELLENLUBA -------------------------------------------------- I just want to make sure you all saw my post and Kay's post from Monday.
We had each just separately spoken to Dr. J. and found out that the legal defesnse fund would last only until the next hearing on June 22nd.
What that means is that if more money is not raised, that's the end. No more lawyer, no more legal defense. no more license . ********************************
This is about as serious as it gets. I know that as soon as the Lyme community gets how serious it is, the defense fund will start to grow.
But that means that each of us needs to contribute and contact others to contribute right now. We need to treat this as an emergency.
THe following is a quote from Kay's post saying that, while Dr. Jones does want many people to come to the hearing, he also "requests that anyone planning to spend money on travel and hotels to attend his hearing, instead, donate the expenses to his defense fund.' -------------------- Posts: 425 | From: New York, NY | Registered: Oct 2001 | IP: Logged

I told Dr. J that I would do all I could to be there.. because he asked me to come.
Sooooooo... I will do my best to try and do what he asked of me.
Welcome home! Thanks so much for making the trip to Raleigh. Hope you can get some good catch-up time before your leaving for Hartford or at least sleep on the train.
The hearing will be held in the Legislative Building, 300 Capitol Avenue, which is right next to the Capitol building (where the Rally was held).
(Sometimes the address of the Legislative Building is listed together with the Capitol as being 210 Capitol Avenue)
There is even a walkway connecting the two buildings. I don't think a room number has been assigned yet. In any case, rooms are sometimes changed at the last minute so attendees can ask at the information desk the day of the hearing. The Capitol, which has a gold dome, is visible from many places in central Hartford so even Lyme patients should be able to find it eventually.
There is a reasonably-priced cafeteria in the building on the ground floor and a small shop for purchasing sundries. In front of the building there is a small garden area with a couple of benches.

If you take the walkway from the Capitol Building, you will end up on the third floor of the Legislative Building. Take the elevator to the first floor where the information desk is.
The LB is a quiet, soothing place with lots of places to rest.
