Many of you have asked me by private email or PM about how my appt. went, etc., so I'm posting and I hope you'll see this to read vs. answering around 20 SEPARATE emails ... thank you so much! [Big Grin] Thanks for asking & your interest.

Betty's SUMMARY of her 7-3-06 LLMD apt. In Minn.

My 2.5 hr. Appt. Was spent 1.5 hrs. Going over ALL my complete body labs:

GOOD NEWS! ``my lyme is DONE for now!'' [bow]

I took antibiotics for 18 months by "pulsing": 3 days of doxycycline, 2 days off; then 3 days of biaxin, 2 days off; then started taking doxy again. I used my bathroom calendar to CHECK OFF DAILY my 3 Ds or 3 Bs and OFF days! Confusing otherwise!

It did NOT show up in the western blot igm/igg from Igenex! IGM had positive 31 only. NO LYME WAS FOUND.

MDLabs did show the 3 types of Epstein Barr virus, active HHV-6 human herpes virus 6, and simplex herpes virus. So she will be treating them.

Arsenic high - run tap water 1 FULL minute getting rid of arsenic coming from copper pipes; saving run water for plants, etc.

CD 57, natural killer function, was 50 ... pretty good!

White blood county was HIGH showing INFECTION!

Platelets were high indicating bleeding ``slow leak'' from GLUTEN/CASEIN food allergies. Once I stop eating gluten/wheat and cow's milk/cheeses/egg whites, this should bring my platelets down to normal.

Neutrophilis showed bacterial infection.

B12 defiance shows small bleeding due to gluten/casein food allergies again! Since I'm allergic to wheat/milk products, I can't take pill form so I'll to take SHOTS I give myself. So she had me do my 1st one on myself shooting into my left hip FAT....lots to chose from there! Ha.

KIDNEYS are outstanding; ``just like an 18 year old''! I guess it pays to pee a lot. 0.7 score

NO LIVER PROBLEMS: AST was 29 and ALT 30 ....EXCELLENT!

CRP was high at 50! ``You have a 50% chance of having a HEART ATTACK unless get these other problems under control!'' It shows inflammation. So she's going to have my local PCP redo that blood test now. Any lab can test CRP; doesn't have to be specialty lab! Normal thyroid..yea!

REDO LABS:
 CRP
 White blood county;
 potassium

TYLENOL IS A NO-NO FOR ME! It stays in my body vs. Excretion. My catechol is really bad; showed up in my Genova detox profile. Marker showed HIGH STRESS.

Lipids: glat peroxides and superoxides show building up TOXIC that does NOT come out in my urine!

TREATMENT PLAN -- 20 additional pills to take OTC!

RESTRICTED to 2 hrs. Daily of pc useage! 1 hr. At a time!

So I won't be reading/replying like I've done these past few months since I couldn't sleep & got on lymenet to make me tired to sleep!

Restricted pc usage is because my neuron transmitters are going wild; all over the place which accounts for my not being able to concentrate for any length of time. She said pc stimulates me; I told her it makes me tired so I can sleep.

Here's my long list of supplementals she recommended I take; expensive $421 plus more coming in mail from pharmacy's.

My office visit bill was $450 minus 20% for Medicare patients. Supplementals were $421 for the 14 things I brought home of 20!

List of NUTRIENTIAL SUPPLEMENTALS -- I will be taking as instructed - NO dosages are shown; private.

1. Pure Encapsulations; nutrient 950;
2. Simalase - gs;
3. Calcium; hydroxy appetite;
4. Lipoic acid;
5. Vitamin B-12 SHOTS helps NERVE PAIN & those with gluten/milk allergies.
6. NAC, n-acetyl-l / cysteine
7. Pro EPA
8. CoenQyme/ CoQ 10 ... will HELP SAVE MY HEART!
9. CHELATED magnesium
10. Revitalized sleep formula by Enzymatic, therapies & photo pharmacists.
11. L glutamine - amino acid
12. L histamine - `` ``
13. 5 HTP, (5 hydroxythyptophan);
14. DHEA
15. Ther Biotics;
16. ANTI YEAST TREATMENTS: Avoid sweets & Stevia herbal sweetener
17. PRO BOOST is thymic protein, by Klaire helps bowels
18. nystatin;
19. DIFLUCAN DISCONTINUE. (I'm not sure why!) Took this for 13 months daily.
20. RHODIOLA ROSEA to fight my immune system viruses;
21. cytrasel for fiber;
22. natto kinse

My original post about initial summary of my 4-20-06, 3 hr. Appt. And EACH of the complete body labs w/explanations from lab reports are posted here:

Betty, there are two things I would question here.

Band 31 on the IgM Western Blot is a positive sign of chronic Lyme disease. I'm not sure why your doctor is saying there is no sign of Lyme.

Second, a score of 50 on the CD-57 is below normal, and usually a sign the Lyme is still active. This is in my head because I just saw my doc today, with a score of 57. He wasn't pleased, though he did tell me it could be due to herxing. This doctor is one of the one's most involved with the CD-57, so I trust what he says.

You want your score to be up to 100, at the least. Now, not everyone is the same, but if you are still showing band 31 IgM,it supports the idea of chronic LYME infection.

Hi Betty,

I am very happy for you that you feel encouraged and that there is progress!

And once you get that gluten-free, casein-free diet down pat, you may feel some significant improvements.

But I must agree with Riversinger about her two comments.

I have a similar CD57 and still have active Lyme.

The B-12 shots are often recommended for nerve pain (I did them for awhile), for fatigue and for the anemia that can accompany celiac disease (autoimmune gluten intolerance).

However, many people with gluten issues are anemic but it is because of malabsorption of nutrients, not necessarily that there is any bleeding going on.

Does she think you have some intestinal bleeding? If so, I would be very concerned and not just assume that a gluten-free, casein-free diet will fix that. Did you have an endoscopy or something to see if there is really any bleeding?

Yes, your CRP is high. Is she recommending any natural anti-inflammatories (sorry, I can't remember the whole list of supplements you posted).What about fish oils? They are great for the heart and inflammation in general. I am glad to see you are on CoQ10 - great for the heart.

Also, you may want to ask her about a supplement called Monolaurin, which is Lauric Acid derived from coconuts. It has a good track record for fighting the herpes and Epstein-Barr viruses. It was one of the supplements I used to cure myself of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome years ago.

Lastly, I am going through neurotransmitter testing myself right now. Again, you know your body better than anyone. If you think the computer relaxes you, rather than stimulates you, you would be the best judge of that.

But Lyme, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, some medications and who knows what else can disrupt the neurotransmitters of the Hypothalmus-Pituitary-Adrenal axis. So I personally just wouldn't blame the computer as the only culprit.

On the other hand, I think most of us who are stressed out from battling chronic disease (and I put myself at the top of the list)should try to do everything possible to find ways to reduce stress.

Please keep us posted on your progress.

Best of health as always,
Jill

Riversinger, I'll get back to you tomorrow on the concerns you mentioned.

My LLMD follows Dr. Teitelbaum's FATIGUED TO FANTASTIC book for chronic fatigue patients. I've just started it. She gives it to all her patients, but someone forgot to give it to me when I was there.

I'll look specifically in the chapters for the issues you addressed.

These areas are all knew for me, and I'm learning thru you EXPERIENCED lymies and reading books.

Jill, Internal bleeding.. I've had either 2-3 endoscopy's .. unknown growth that later a surgeon said was FATTY TISSUE and benign.

Although for years, I've had nose bleeds and 2 surgeries to correct a deviated septum CAUSING the nose bleeds. But I still bleed anyway. At one time, 1 MD said, "you're bleeding internally, but we can't figure out where"!

"bleeding" she uses is her expression for gluten/casein intolerances. Don't know why she thinks that way.

fish oils; 1 of those things I posted was a fish oii but I couldn't tell you without looking.

Tomorrow, I'll finally break down and buy a pill box; these are too many to do my "old" way plus the RX meds I'm still on.

Still reading thru everything. She enlarged her 25 page handout which printed to be 54 pages in the larger font for me.

If I didn't answer something, please ask again as when I scroll up/down; I still get lost in my comprehension & retention of things ok. [Big Grin]
