Hello lyme friends,

You might have read in my last post that I will be getting my PICC removed next week after 4 weeks of Rocephin. It's a big long story....

Anyway, LLMD said that he is putting me on a new med when PICC is out. I was so upset I can't remember the name of what he is putting me on. I do recall that he said it was the closest oral form to Rocephin.

I know it began with a C...I know..I am pathetic tonight..but I am still feeling sorry for myself. I was having great imrpovement with Rocephin.

Anyway, do any oral meds cross the blood brain barrier or is it just IV?

Hugs to all, kit

Kit, I am so sorry you are discouraged..... What happened with your Picc? I'll look for the other thread.

Try not to let this get you down. You WILL get better!

Hugs.

I am pretty sure that minocycline has good penetration. Some others, in varying degrees of effectiveness.

I was taking oral Cefuroxime-1000mg two times daily= 2000mg . Brand name Ceftin. Maybe that's what you will be taking-it did do some good-but the IV form was a real power boost for me.
