Well here we go again.

The Hida Scan did show distention in my gallbladder with very slow emptying into the small intestine. No evidence of gallbladder disease [confused]

However, they are going to send me to a general surgeon for evaluation. Does this mean there is something wrong with my small intestinal tract then instead?

I cant take this anymore. I just don't know what to do and where to go. Im still in pain and ready to give up on everything.

Oh, don't give up!!!! I know that feeling all too well... and pain really, really wears a person down... I lived with it for 18 years.

My gallbladder was slow to empty too -- my NP put me on actigall and that took care of the problem. I plan to stay on it throughout treatment, as I'd really like to keep the gallbladder, thank you very much.

Lyme and co-infections can cause illness/dysfunction in basically any system in the body. Specialists generally only look at the small picture -- their specialties-- rather than the whole systemic picture.

Are you seeing an LLMD? If not, get to one and get evalutated - I swear it is the best gift you can give yourself.

Do you know your enjection fraction rate? It says on my report normal range is 35% or greater.
Mine was 25%.

If you get the office to fax you a copy of the report this number should be listed on the report.

And also on the report it should say when injection of kinevac/cck was injected if it reproduced patients nausea symtoms.

Hello

I do have an LLMD but not getting any results with him yet and my have to switch although i do not know to who

Secondly, I do not know my percentage. In fact the dr got the report from the radiologist over the phone since it isn't typed up yet and in the system so there is no way for me to get a copy yet.

I do have lots of intestinal pain and I am hoping that the surgeon will at least take me seriously and try to figure out what the heck is going on.

No, theres no stones but that doesn't mean there isn't something wrong with the gallbladder-KWIM? I would think if it was intestinal it would block up the liver and everything else as well and those things are fine.

Im leaving town tomorrow and will not be back till next week. Im not even sure I can enjoy my vacation now-tired of all this.

I even tried the Xango juice this mornig and it made me sick.

I dont see how this report changes anything. This is what they had said to you----your gallbladder is not functioning correctly. It does NOT mean you have gallbladder disease or that they would even be able to identify GB disease thru a hida scan. Plus you dont want gallbladder disease.

Dont despair--this news is the same news you were rejoicing over a few days ago. It hasnt changed a bit from what I can tell.

The slow emptying into the intestines most likely has NOTHING to do with the intestines and is all about the gall bladder. YOu have had clear colonoscopies and endoscopies so there isnt blockage--it is just from a sluggish gallbladder. sluggish gallbladder doesnt mean actual disease...they dont know why it is sluggish. surprise huh?

I have a sluggish gallbladder as well. My percentage is 30---right on the cusp---so i have kept mine.

Try to have a good time away and remember that you ARE getting somewhere with this. You are finding some of the roots of your discomfort.

I hope you have some days without pain and anguish on your trip! You need them!

I have no idea what my percentage is. You see, they were unable to put in the ck... something... you know the one that causes your gallbladder to contract and causes nausea and pain? Because they couldn't see my small intestines. Yes they showed up, but over 3 hours later.

Nancy,

Have you been prescribed an antispasmodic? I thought I had gallbladder problems. I've twice had what were classic gallbladder attacks, only no stones and my HIDA was fine.

My LLMD mentioned that there is a duct or something next to the gallbladder that can spasm and cause the same exact symtpoms of gallbladder attacks. She prescribed me an antispasmodic to take when I felt any pain start.

The antispasmodic goes under your tongue so it works really quickly. It may help the pain.

Im taking Bentyl right now-don't notice a whole lot of difference. Ive only taken a couple so far so I assume it will take some time to work if its going to.

Im back from my trip. I had fun but my stomach is treating me like hell. I see a surgeon for an evaluation August 7th.

Wouldn't they still consider taking the gallbladder out even if there are no stones present? Im miserable.

Bentyl didn't do a whole lot for me when my gallbladder started acting up. Nothing did... Just the surgery. Maybe try a heat pack?? Keep us updated, and hang in there.
