Hello fellow lymies,
I have Lyme disease & babesia. I've been on antibiotics and have been faithfully taking probiotics and yogurt.
I've noticed that my taste buds look like they're longer & thicker than normal, My taste buds also looks like they are yellowish-white color. This doesn't scrape off. There are no other patches of white or anything else that looks abnormal.
There is no pain or redness in my mouth. I always use a tongue scraper when I brush my teeth. I've never used the strict yeast protocol for preventing or treating thrush.
Could this be yeast?

you should call your doc.
I have had thrush many times and don't always get the pain just the coating on my tongue.
I think you have heard this before but a no sugar low carb diet helps alot with yeast problems.
Are you taking probiotics?
Hope you can feel better soon
make sure to talk over everything first with your LLMD

I find it doesn't usually get painful until it is pretty advanced --- starts out with a coated tongue, then progresses to irritation and then, if not addressed, to itching and burning just like yeast in other mucous membrane-areas does.
You can break open an acidophilus capsule and swish it around in your mouth -- that may help. I have to take diflucan regularly, even on top of all the probiotics, good diet and natural-anti-fungals, or I get over-run with yeast. I wonder, actually, if that is changing now that my immune system is in far better shape?

It sounds like what I have. For the last 2,5 years I thought it's yeast and tried everything known to mankind against my "yeast" and even some unknown and self-invented remedies.
Nothing helped but it costed me a fortune and kept me in a constant paranoia about yeast. Didn't help my psychological state, either.
Some time ago, finally, I went to the doctor and had it examined. Result: Nothing. This means, there was no candida or other yeasty thing growing in the petri dish. There were also no bacteria growing.
I think it's caused by some kind of bacteria which cannot be cultured easily in the lab.
A lymie friend has exactly the same coating on her tongue. She also had it examined recently. Result: Nothing! So same case as mine.
If I may give you an advice: please have it examined before you spend a lot of money and ruin your nerves for nothing.
