Anyone have any experience with DMSA for metal toxicity. They mercury level is very high.

Any side effects? My son is starting this at the same time as IV Rocephin. DO you think this is to much to handle. He has neuropsych lyme and has been very nervous and anxious lately with musical hallucinations returning. I don't want to make things worse for him.

Any information would be appreciated. Thanks!!

All I can tell you - go only to a doctor who has a lot, a lot, a lot of experience in heavy metal detox before you get involved with DMSA or, for that matter, anything that is used for the purpose of getting metals out of the brain and body.

Don't know who your doctor is -- Hoping it's not a Dr. H.

Take care.

i used oral dmsa some months, in cycls of 3 days each week; i think that is not toxic but chelate all minerals, include the needed;

the days that i was taking it, i had deep fatigue, not any more; some people feel bad with the sulfur foods, included dmsa;

in my opinion you can delay the dmsa, or start it very low, is a long travel of months, years, and to move the mercury and needed minerals, can
reduce the atack against infection

i believe that high mercury is consequence of infection, and the first is reduce the aliens level

in yahoo groups are various groups about chelation, with a lot of experience

Gigi, are you referring to Dr. H in NY (just north of Poughkeepsie)?

I've used him with good results. Never had a problem with DMSA. Of course that doesn't mean others won't have problems.

I followed his protocol precisely.

In addition, at my own initiative I loaded up on MSM beforehand. I started about a week before the first dose. Took about 1g every morning after breakfast and another 1g after dinner.

Also supplemented with minerals during the recovery periods, as Dr. H instructed.

Btw, after the chelation was all done, and I was all cleansed (at least based on the Doctor's Data test), I started taking small doses of Chlorella every morning (1/2 hour before bf) to continue the detox but at a low maintenance level.

Michael

I'm not an MD. The above is IMO and in my experience as well as from health related books.

I've had symptoms consistent with neurological Lyme disease since 1986. Was diagnosed with Lyme in 2004. Am feeling better now than ever before.
