I have been on abx since february doxy for a month then iv rochephin for a month then in july first omnicef then august started doxy and since october my new protocol. throughout my bp was always normal

In december I went to my reg doc and he checked my pressure and it was high 160/90 he also doubled my armour thyroid on that trip and said come back in six weeks well check everything again

so I went back yesterday so he could draw blood etc. he checked my pressure again and it was still high. he said he wasn't worried but to check with my llmd when I go on tuesday and come back in a month so he can keep an eye.

I asked if it could be a side effect of any meds and he said the plaquinel

anybody heard of this or had similar reactions? could it be the plaquenil or something else?

much thanks to all!

melissa

Geet,

I took plaq for 2 yrs and never read that to be a side effect. In fact, plaquenil is one of the safer drugs we take. It can cause vision damage but even that usually takes years.

Now, that is the official news. Here at lymenet, I have seen people post lots of negative side effects.

As for high blood pressure, this is what works for me. Increase your Vit C intake. At one time I was taking 6000mg daily. I ran out of C and didn't bother to get more. Within a month, my bp went to borderline hypertensive. 30 days later, I was still high.

I read where Vit C lowers blood pressure so I jumped back on it and two weeks later my bp was 118/70.

Today I take 2 - 4000mg daily. I'm much better and kind of lax on the Vit C, but it will definitely bring down your blood pressure. I also read that garlic helps.

I no longer have bp issues.

Vit C is safer than bp drugs.
