You are talking about local news program, I would guess, not something those of us outside TN can get, right?

This is terrific news!!! We are cheering you on.

While I am sure your gov is a nice man, I am secretly wishing on him the full package of tbd germs to the point that someone finally calls up
ILADS and asks for help.

Hi Lou,
It's local channel 4 Nashville Tennessee.
My story aired May 14th 2004 and they got so much feedback from it.
I had so many phone calls and e-mails it was incredible.
I looked so sick the day they shot it infact I looked terrible.
I'm not sure what time it will air but Terri Merryman will let me know later and I'll post the time for those of you in Nashville.

Good luck kathy [Smile]

Is there any way you could post the link to the station?

For those of us who don't get the station. Only if you feel confortable with that.

Here it is. Check it out after the evening news, or maybe tomorrow morning as it takes a little time to get the story on the website.

So far the only tickborne article on that site is definitely not Kathy's story.

Doctor's: Tick Bites Rarely Cause Serious Illness

http://www.wsmv.com/health/9702682/detail.html

This article on the gov mentioned recurring fever as have most of the other articles I have read on this topic -- my first thought was babesia and it is doubtful they would think to test for that. The state epidemiologist thinks ticks in Tennessee only carry Lyme, Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever and ehrlichiosis.

I just e-mailed Terri Merryman and asked if dhe can put my story on line so it will not probably show up till tomoorrow.
She only decided to air the story today it was planned thats why it's not on there..
I have had phone calls from people who have been calling Channel 4 and asking for my name and how to spell it and phoning me that the same thing happened to them one caller has had LD for 23 years it's ruined his life too.
I cannot believe that report Lyme is'nt serious
there telling people not to be afraid and to keep going out to parks
Thats the problem if it gets out how dangerous ticks are people will not want to go camping and to parks and outdoor activities.
Please if you watched me on the news e-mail Terri and tell her how good the story was and I'm sure it will help all of us with LD
I looked terrible in that video I was on Steriods at the time and my face was like a ballon (I did'nT know any better at the time)

And here's another one from your neck of the woods -- loks like the governor's plight is helping to generate these stories....

Here is Mary Ann's story. BTW she not only got on TV, but yesterday was announced the winner of a copy of "Confronting Lyme Disease" in a "Find the errors in the story" contest on my LD E-list.

Way to go Mary Ann!

Can't wait to see Kathy's story.

Advocate Warns of Lyme Disease
Posted: 8/17/2006 7:13:54 PM

Although the cause of Governor Bredeson's ailment has not been confirmed, speculation is that a tick bite was the culprit. If indeed it is a tick bite that landed the Governor in the hospital, it could be a serious situation according to one local woman who said a small tick bite has ruined her life.

Mary Ann Pickard would like to spend more time picking tomatoes in her garden, but she's picking pills instead. She said it's because of Lyme disease from a tick bite seven years ago.

"They started like flu-like symptoms, but really severe, like I've never had them. Bad muscle pain, headaches, nausea, exhaustion like I've never experienced," Pickard said.

She said she started feeling several symptoms of Lyme and other related diseases two weeks after being bitten.

Pickard said doctors misdiagnosed her disease for almost a year leading to serious complications. She's now an advocate on the dangers of Lyme disease.

Health officials admit quick treatment is a must. For more information, see the contact information on Sites in the News: http://www.newschannel5.com/content/sites_in_the_news.shtml
