hi everyone' just wanted to touch base. i started my fourth day of doxy today, have a nice yeast infection so i guess i'm on my way....lol.
i think the strangest thing going on is how my symptoms change minute to minute, or so it seems. first it's my elbow then my knee then my breast then my face will tingle, then my feet feel squishy, then it goes away then the vertigo comes back. why is this? yesterday i was out on the boat all day and felt great, it almost makes me feel sometimes that if i';m not thinking of my symptoms they're not their.
the insomnia is still brutal as is the fatigue but i did feel good for an hour the other and a few hours yesterday....god, it's sad when you think a few hours of feeling good is progress.
talked to a public health nurse about possible lyme and she said, your symptoms are screaming lyme. waiting for llmd appointment and to see if doxy will make a difference. didn't feel as numb this morning when i woke up, which was pretty nice.
well guess i'm in the waiting game. you know the thing that really bothers me is when i first started thinking lyme, i thought no big deal, WRONG, it's really such a brutal thing to go through. i feel weak, but can carry a 40 lb child, i feel like i'm off balance but walk totally normal to others.......
okay, thanks for your ears karen

Nurse, you'll want to take a good probiotic 2 hours before or after your doxy. Watch the sun when your on doxy as you can get some nasty burns. If you're having yeast issues you may want to consider freeze-dried garlic or olive leaf extract to kill off the nasties.
Symptoms flaring and dropping are pretty common so I wouldn't be alarmed.
For insomnia you may want to check with your doc but amytriptyline and ambien should help knock you out.
Due to your reactions it's highly likely you have lyme, sounds like a herx.

HI FPN
yes, with lyme disease its a bumpie ride. Things can change on a dime.
Could you have overdone it yesterday on the boat? This can make the following days after harder. Now that you are in treatment & on the doxy and probably herxing you may need to rest more.
It also sounds like you could be herxing.
Thats about right. I herx almost right away when I have ever started a abx. The herxing ramps up the symptoms and it could get really hard before you get better.
Dido on NP40's thought to take a good probiotic spaced at least 2 hours apart from the doxy.
Just keep in mind when herxing and things may get worse that it is only a tempory thing- Thank God
Not a permanent state.
Hang in there
ps. try to stay out of the sun while on doxy. It can cause a wicked burn
make sure to talk over everything first with your LLMD
