Any advice on this would be very appreciated. I was on lexapro, doxy, and rocephin for about 2 years. I had started doing better and my doc told me to stop the rocephin. Well at the same time I also decided to stop the lexapro.(I did wean off very slowly) I was doing fine for the first 2 weeks but then by the third week all hell broke loose. I started having all my old symptoms come back. My doc put me back on the rocephin as she thinks that the lyme is obviously not gone. Has this happened to anyone else, and should I start the lexapro again or will the rocephin cure my anxiety. It is so bad I can hardly leave the house. I just don't know what to do.

I don't have experience w/your above meds; sorry for what you are going thru.

I started having PANIC ATTACKS 11-06; xanax; it really helped me. Haven't used it in several months. Hope others come to your rescue!

I agree with Lyme ED- I never start two meds at the same time-for that very reason-to help sort out how something is effecting me before starting another med.

I take lexapro twice a day ten mgs.

I have tried to come off of it a couple times but always start getting kind of like power surges or virtigo type pulses in my brain.

I have'nt been on any abx for awhile so I know it's the lexapro or lack of it.

I would wait, if you can, to see if the rocephin helps your anxiety. However, it's probably the weaning off of the lexapro that has caused your anxiety return.

The affects of the brain infection may be irreversable...don't know for sure...could also be the fact that you did'nt get all the chetes out of your system...they are pretty hard to get rid of...

Hope this helps........zman

In my expereince as a lyme patient I would say as a general rule it is not a good idea to start two meds at the same time

because then you cant tell what is doing what.

BUT if you symptoms are to troublesome and especially if the anxiety is hindering your ability to function in any way I would talk to the dr that was treating the anxiety and see if they wanted you to go back on the lex. or if they wanted to try another med.

But if the symptoms are troublesome to cope with, I personally wouldn't wait to get it treated and under some control.

Best wishes

I was on lexapro, only 5mgs per day. I started having heart palps and wasn't sure if it was from the lexapro or not(still don't know).

I stopped the lexapro after a couple of months and didn't notice a change but again that was just a small dosage.

I am also starting to have anxiety again. I think that once the abx start helping your symptoms the anxiety will be reduced (just my opinion).

Good luck
