I dont think I have an autoimmune disease, I was tested for lupus, because I get sick from the sun, and my relatives had it, but tested

negative for it. I had some tests run by MD for ANA, and some other tests, all were ok.

I never had dryness of the eyes, mouth, throat, or breathing, until I went off antibiotics for one month.

It was during the lyme growth phase that I caught a herpes virus, on the lip, family had it all too, and the next day I was dry in the mouth and eyes.

I read that viruses can trigger autoimmune,

I also was in the lyme growth phase at this time, and OFF anitbiotics, and I belive that this was mostly the lyme growth, and I getting worse, thus the dryness.

The dryness spread through the lungs and so on, within a month. I then CLUED in that it was lyme back...

at this point, it was life threatening, and I was back on antibiotics, and the dryness got MUCH better within 2 months.

HOWEVER now this dryness, comes and goes, I dont know why.

I cannot take taurine because it makes me drier, Siberian Ginseng makse me drier and so much pain,

before I had this dryness happen, I took Siberian Ginseng years ago and was feeling mighty good, I only took the Siberian Ginseng while off antibiotics.

Does anyone know if lyme can go INTO the immune cells, or cause an autoimmune like condition?

thus I get drier in the eyes and breathing, VERY much drier when I take Taurine.
They say when you have autoimmune disease, not to take things to stimulate, as makes autoimmune worse.

Taurine is in an acidophilus product I have, it also gives me PAIN, and mightyh sickness.
My normal probiotics dont make me this sick.

Taurine stimulates the immune cells, I am sure this is worse for me now. I have tried this product of mine a few times, and get drier and sicker.

I wanted to use it up instead of buying another probiotic, save me money. Not worht it though, makes me sicker.

Anyone else have autoimmune lyme? and have same reaction?

thanks,

Trish

Hi. I read your message with interest b/c I recently indentified Taurine as a substance I am allergic to/have a sensitivity to.
This summer in an effort to clear my gut/yeast issues my LLMD had me on a bunch of different products. Well, I've been sick as can be all summer and I think part of my problem was related to taking a large amount of sulfer derived products (which includes Taurine) I am not a biochemist, but when I started looking into sulfer toxicity, it seemed to match some of my new symptoms. My skin and hair became extremely dry and I had asthma like symtoms. When I stopped the products containing sulfur ( glucosamine sulfate, MSM, methionine, taurine, cysteine / cystine) these problems cleared up.
I seem to have sensitivity to everything these days; I don't know if a problem with sulfur derived products is r/t Lyme or not.
Still not feeling fastastic, but better.

Ive always done better with not many supps.

Antibiotics work, probiotics work, but only when lyme is getting better. Probiotics make me sicker if lyme is worse.

Some do well with lots of supps, other dont.

My suggestion is to stop all just do anitbiotics, and probiotics, then add in one supp at a time and watch for reaction.

FOr myself it is not the sulfer, it is the stimulating of the Taurine.
